Chapter 3 - Chapter 1 rewrite: there will be blood

MC POV:

When did I ever care about how I died? All that mattered to me was what came next. Would I gain power, or was this just endless nothingness, the empty void I've been trapped in for the past 20 years? My death wasn't anything special, and honestly, I don't care enough to tell the story.I might as well wake up now. I could have always done so if I wanted to, but I usually decided not to. After emerging from my long slumber, I adjusted to my new surroundings: a vast, pure white floor stretching for miles, populated by creatures that looked eerily similar to curses from a TV show I watched when I was alive. Sometimes, I wonder if I'm just another curse. Do I get some kind of overpowered technique? Maybe. I don't really care, but I do feel like destroying something.

After checking out my new body—which seemed awfully familiar, like Mahoraga's—I realized, oh, right, I *am* Mahoraga now. I might as well test my adaptations and see what I can do. There weren't many interesting curses here, apparently. This is just where beings like me—shinigami—are born, like the demon dog and those bunnies Toji destroyed. I don't care about little things like them, though I've learned I can summon myself to the real world now. I have full control over the Ten Shadows technique, making Megumi even more irrelevant. Mahoraga, the OP stopper, is in town. Time to stomp on some overpowered fools, just like my namesake.

Time doesn't seem to flow here. The more I use the Ten Shadows technique to observe the outside world, the more I realize nothing moves. Yes, the technique lets me see the world, but did you know Mahoraga doesn't have set abilities except for adaptation? That means I can create a full library of techniques—basically, any technique is up for grabs. I have one idea: what if I could create a technique to copy others, like Yuta? If I combine that with my adaptation ability, I accidentally create a new technique called Set Copy. With it, I can copy everything about a Jujutsu sorcerer: all their techniques, adaptations, powers, and even special body modifications like puppetry. It doesn't matter if they control an item—I can copy their ability through the item. It's kind of broken, honestly. I plan to wipe out the entire Jujutsu universe, just to see if I can leave.

After fighting a couple of grade one curses, I gained some interesting adaptations: fire resistance, bar resistance, and all kinds of elemental resistances. I even acquired a curse technique, elemental manipulation, which lets me fuse into and sink within elements themselves. That's already a strong start. Mahoraga, now with the ability to manipulate elements and merge with them, is insanely overpowered. I wonder how broken I'll become by the end of this.

The second curse, just a disgusting mass, only gave me soul resistances. Since I can adapt and copy abilities, I already have resistance to every element, metal, trees, and beyond. The soul resistances just made me immune to all soul-related objects.

This dimension is useful. It's where curses too powerful to exist on Earth are brought, keeping the world balanced for the Jujutsu sorcerers. The most powerful ability I gained here was soul consumption, though I haven't gotten soul attack yet. I'd need to fight the MC for that, since no other being here has it. The next few curses only gave me minor adaptation abilities and no curse techniques, same for the others. There aren't many around since this void is vast and empty. If I want to find strong curses, I'll have to search the emptiest parts of this dimension. After all, the more curses one consumes, the stronger one gets. That's what I've been doing with the corpses of the dead here.
