Curiosity piqued; Ren quietly made his way to the small kitchen by pressing a highlighted round sign on the wall. The wall slid back to reveal a small space from where Zenith had served them fruit juice.
Ren, missing the simple doorknobs, walked forward as he noticed that the metallic surfaces of the counters and appliances were spotless. It must have been cleaned regularly.
Despite its compact size, the kitchen was impressively equipped. There was a state-of-the-art oven with touch-screen controls, a high-speed boiler, and various other advanced cooking instruments that looked like they belonged in a sci-fi movie.
However, as he opened the cabinets and drawers, he noticed that the kitchen held only a modest selection of ingredients...some basic spices, a few packets of instant meals, different flavors of nutrient solutions and a few varieties of dark, yellow-colored round synth fruit. Their sizes vary from a small Tennis ball to a big ripe honeydew melon.
