That was how long it took Liora to get any news about the Marshal.
When the assistant Liora finally burst into the room, Ren stood there rooted to the spot. His fingers curled over the hem of his big shirt until his knuckles turned pale.
"The Marshal is currently stationed at the outer camps near the danger zone," Liora said with a polite smile.
"Due to the security lockdown, we weren't able to receive any updates until now. I can't share the full message, but, well... Marshal Death is expected to return within three days. I hope that puts your mind at ease, Lord Rion."
Instant relief flooded his tight nerves, finally allowing his muscles to relax.
His heart, tense for days, settled back in his ribcage. The wait hadn't been for nothing. Kade was fine and coming back in just three days. What could be better news than this?
With his calm senses, Ren was able to notice the change in Liora.
