Chapter 339 - Tiona: Mahiro!!

Chapter 339 - Tiona: Mahiro!!

"I'll report your request to the Guild," Eina said, her tension easing at Mahiro's confident demeanor.

Since meeting him, Mahiro had never acted recklessly. His feats, though astonishing, always succeeded flawlessly.

This War Game must be calculated.

As his Guild advisor, Eina knew his dungeon exploits well, giving her insight into his strength.

In her view, Mahiro alone could handle the Apollo Familia with ease.

"Good odds," she thought, reassured by his assured "I'll win."

"No trouble at all," Mahiro said, smiling.

Reporting to the Guild was a formality to keep things above board.

Bypassing it and attacking the Apollo Familia directly was possible but would invite complications.

The Guild strictly forbade Familia conflicts in Orario, a city of adventurers and ordinary citizens alike.

A single stray spell could demolish buildings, endangering lives.

Unsanctioned fights triggered penalties based on severity. Following protocol avoided such hassles, and Mahiro wasn't one to begrudge the effort.

"Oh, one more thing," Mahiro added, pausing thoughtfully. "Besides the War Game with the Apollo Familia…"

He listed the goddesses who'd chased him yesterday, outlining his intentions.

The Apollo Familia, being second-rate, wouldn't make a splashy victory.

Mahiro wasn't one to drag innocents into his plans, but those goddesses had given him a convenient excuse to target their Familia.

"No way!" Eina cut him off, glaring fiercely.

"You want to wage War Games against all those Familia at once? Are you trying to cause more chaos?"

In her eyes, his feud with the Apollo Familia was irreconcilable, but the goddesses' pursuit didn't justify such escalation.

For the next ten minutes, Eina shed her gentle demeanor, lecturing Mahiro like a stern elder, trying to dissuade him.

She led him out of the reception room with a wry smile, unsure if her words had sunk in.

On the surface, Mahiro seemed to relent, but she suspected he was just humoring her.

Eina's instinct was spot-on. Mahiro hadn't abandoned his plan, merely shelved it.

The goddesses' Familia didn't yet warrant War Games, and the Guild wouldn't approve targeting so many at once, especially with the Apollo conflict already in motion.

More critically, Orario needed its gods and Familia. The Dungeon's ever-present threat loomed beneath the city's peace.

Without adventurers culling monsters daily, their numbers could surge, breaking seals and spilling onto the surface.

Orario relied on both elite and numerous adventurers to keep the balance. A mass War Game would cripple its strength.

"I won't drive those Familia out of Orario," Mahiro thought. But no one would believe that without proof.

War Games typically ended with the loser's Familia dissolved, the victor claiming all.

They were a spectacle for bystanders, a nightmare for participants.

Only those with absolute confidence dared initiate one.

As Mahiro exited the reception room into the Guild hall, preparing to leave, a group entered from outside.

Leading them was a pallum adventurer exuding a calm authority beyond his stature—Finn, captain of the Loki Familia.

Behind him trailed their top-tier, first-class adventurers.

Before their arrival, hall patrons had stolen glances at Mahiro, intrigued by the record-breaking rookie.

Now, all eyes shifted to the Loki Familia, parting to clear their path.

"The Loki Familia!"

"They're back!"

"Did their expedition break any records?"

Their entrance stirred a buzz.

As one of Orario's twin kings, the Loki Familia's every move drew scrutiny, especially expeditions tied to the city's fate.

Unfazed by the attention, Finn's group strode toward the Guild counter.

"Mahiro!" Tiona, trailing boredly, lit up as if spotting treasure, waving enthusiastically at him.
