|3rd POV|
And what they are seeing is madness.
They watch as rainbow flames blaze across the battlefield and decimate the Grimm tide. However, that is not the only thing that they notice. They watch as the people in this place create magic circles in the sky and release a hail of spells toward the enemies.
"Ozpin, are you sure they are magic?"
Glynda says while keeping her gaze on the spells, creating all kinds of effects that destroy a group of Grimm.
"Are you sure it is not some kind of Semblance?"
Ozpin shakes his head and says.
"Nod. They are using magic like in the past. I can feel them. I can feel the magic they are using. However, unlike what the people used in the past, those spells are more refined and controlled. Less explosive but still as destructive."
"But I thought there is no longer a magic-user in the world, Oz?!"
"Yes"
"Then what about them?! They are shooting magic like fireworks!"
"I don't know, Qrow. I don't know."
They continue to watch the battlefield, but their attention immediately turns to the east when they feel the ground start to shake. They widen their eyes when they see a massive Boarbatusk, a boar-like Grimm, marching toward them.
"Elder-Alpha Boarbatusk!"
Elder-Alpha is a designation of a Grimm. Alpha is a designation of a Grimm that becomes the leader of its pack. They are usually bigger, tougher, and stronger than the regular version of their race.
Elder is a designation of a Grimm that continues to survive for a long time. To reach Elder status, they need to survive for at least 75 years. Grimm grows with time, and because of 75 years of growing, it grows bigger and stronger.
Combining the two of them, you will have a stronger variant of Grimm that grows with time. A Grimm can become Elder without having the status of an Alpha, after all.
"It is already the size of Goliath," Ozpin says as he analyzes the Grimm marching toward them. "That means that thing is at least 85 years old, and we never notice its presence."
There is a reason why Elder Grimm is rare. Hunters will always hunt for them because they want to prevent them from reaching the highest ranking for a Grimm: Ancient. When they reach that level, they are considered a Kingdom Disaster threat that needs hundreds or even thousands of fighters working together.
"With that size, its thickness will be hard to punch through, and its armor needs a special kind of ammo to destroy. What makes matters worse is that the armor covers most of its body."
The Elder-Alpha stands at 10 meters tall, and its body is covered by white bone with red markings around it. It radiates malice, and its glowing eyes show nothing but madness.
"Qrow, inform the others about this disaster and send all the available hunters here. We need to destroy this thing or at least delay until we can call James."
Qrow nods and prepares to turn into his bird form, but before he can do that, he sees five people walk toward them before flying into the air. Ozpin and his group widen their eyes when they see those five people fly toward the massive Grimm.
The old wizard turns around and shouts.
"Tell them to stop! They cannot defeat the Elder Grimm! They will only get killed!"
The man he shouted at looked at him and said,
"What? You underestimate us too much. The five of them are our strongest Storm and Rain. They can weaken the big bastard for us to kill."
"Storm? Rain?"
"Just watch, and we will explain later."
Ozpin hesitates for a second and decides to look at the five people flying toward the massive Grimm. He is wondering what they will do, and his question gets answered in a few seconds.
He watches as the massive Silver Sword above them shines with power and sees two of the five people floating in the air, covered in red fire. A couple of seconds later, they release a massive torrent of Red Flame toward the massive Grimm.
His eyes widen when he sees the armor of the Elder-Alpha get eaten by the flame, and after a few seconds, a third of the armor is gone, leaving a massive spot of unprotected flesh.
"That is the power of Storm Flame. Its characteristic is Disintegration. If you are strong enough, it can eat through anything, even conceptual power."
Before Ozpin can say anything, the rest of the people there are engulfed by the Blue Flame. They raise their hands and also release massive torrents of blue beams from their hands. However, unlike the previous one, their attack only destroys the armor around the head of the Elder-Alpha.
Ozpin wants to say something, but is beaten by the man beside him.
"And that is Rain Flame. It is not as destructive as Storm Flame, but has one very powerful characteristic. It can weaken anything it touches. Someone can be sapped out of their power and die when they get touched by this flame."
When he finishes his explanation, he looks to the side and shouts.
"Prepare the Arcobaleno-Grade Sniper! Prepare Storm, Rain, Lightning, and Cloud ammo for the sniper! We will destroy that bastard!"
Ozpin looks at him in confusion and wonders what kind of weapon that has 'Arcobaleno' grade. He also wonders what an Arcobaleno is. That is the word he has never heard in his life, and he has a long life.
His curiosity is answered when he sees a monstrous weapon placed next to him. This weapon is not a sniper but a cannon. It is two and a half meters long, and the scope of the sniper looks like it contains a computer.
The man calls someone from the other group, and Ozpin watches as a young woman runs toward him. He blinks for a second because the woman in front of him is rather short. He is not someone who underestimates a fighter or soldier, but her stature makes it quite comical in his mind when she takes the prone position next to the rifle.
He is not the only one who has this kind of thinking, as Qrow and Glynda also have the same kind of thinking.
"Charging!"
He snaps from his thoughts and watches as the sniper starts to glow. He can feel power gathering inside the sniper, and he unconsciously swallows his saliva as he can feel the massive amount of power the sniper gathers.
"Target… Locked! Firing in 3… 2… 1…"
*THUUM*
The wall underneath them shudders as a massive beam of light shoots out of the weapon and punches through the massive Grimm. The light blinded them for a second, but when they could see once again, they could see the upper half of the Elder-Alpha Grimm disappear into nothingness.
"Holy shit"
"That is impossible."
Ozpin can only nod his head as he agrees with his companions' words. Those are the appropriate words to use after witnessing that spectacle.
From then on, Ozpin decided to see if he could recruit these people. They might be the savior of this world if he can ally himself with them. Remnant might have a chance against the incoming darkness with this kind of power.
