1 year later.
A large wooden boat is traveling across the ocean.
Captain-"Now we are close to our second designation of our cruise. If you use the telescopes provided you can see the Kaiju Archipelago in the distance"
The large group of people all look through small telescopes provided to them.
Passenger 1-"Wow, would you look at that"
Passenger 2-"I think I see a dragon flying over there"
Passenger 3-"Oh please, judging by the body shape that's clearly just a wyvern"
Passenger 2-"Who made you an expert"
A female passenger (4) walks up to the captain.
Passenger 4-"Hello captain, will we be getting any closer. I can barely see it from all the way over here"
Captain-"I'm sorry ma'am, but unfortunately this is as close as we can get. The guild prohibits civilians from getting any closer to the islands due to safety concerns"
Passenger 4-"You have to be joking. I paid a lot of money to be on this ship"
Captain-"I'm aware of that ma'am, but it said clearly on our itinerary that we would maintain a distance beyond 100 kilometers from the islands. Any closer and some of the monsters from the island could attack us"
Passenger 4-"Don't you have body guards on this ship.? What is the point of having them if they aren't ever going to do anything?"
Captain-"We would prefer it if the body guards didn't have to do anything ma'am"
Passenger 4 scoffs and walks away clearly disappointed.
Captain-"I swear, some people have no self preservation"
Another one of the passengers who is a young boy goes up to the edge of the boat. They watch as the waves collide with the side of the boat.
Young boy-"Can't believe my parents took me on this stupid boat ride. We've been out here for a whole day"
The young boy tosses a small piece of trash into the ocean. Suddenly he notices a lot of bubble start to rise from the depths of the water.
Young boy-"Hm?"
Passenger 1-"Is it just me, or is it starting to get hotter?"
More bubbles start popping up all around the boat. Many of the passengers start to sweat from the sudden increase in heat.
Crew mate-"Captain! Something seems wrong"
Captain-"Yes I noticed, we might be overtop of a hydrothermal vent, but worst case it could be some monster. Either way we need to move from this spot immediately"
Passenger 4-"What is that!?"
Multiple passengers begin looking over the side of the boat. The water has started to glow red.
Passenger 2-"Oh gods! Are we overtop of an underwater volcano?"
The boat is suddenly knocked away with the majority of the passengers falling over. The people look on in horror as a giant hand made of lava quickly emerges from the water.
Passenger 4-"It's a monster!"
Guard 1-"Form up! It's a giant monster attack!"
Guard 2-"What the heck is a monster this big doing this far away from the islands! Its hand is almost as big as the entire ship!"
The immense heat radiating from the monster is causing multiple swimming pools worth of water to rapidly evaporate.
Guard 1-"Hold your ground! Protect the passengers!"
The giant lava hand begins to descend onto the ship.
Guard 1-"Barrier! Now!"
Guards 3 and 4-"Yes sir! Barrier skill: barrier wall!"
The two guards combine their skills to create a large see through wall above the ship. The hand slams into the wall cracking it but not fully breaking through the barrier.
Guard 1-"Passengers! All of you must retreat below deck!"
The passengers who haven't already fled begin running downstairs joining the majority of passengers who already went there.
Guard 1-"Wind skill: wind blade!"
Guard 2-"Lightning skill: thunder slash!"
Guards 1 and 2 use cutting skills on the arm of the monster to the cut the massive hand off. The wrist is cut through and the arm sinks back into the water while the hand lays on top of the barrier.
Guard 1-"Tilt the barrier! Drop the hand back into the ocean before the barrier breaks"
Guards 3 and 4-"Yes sir!"
Guards 3 and 4 begin tilting the barrier to an angle that lets the large lava hand drop back into the ocean which results in a large splash that rains down on the ship.
Guard 2-"Ouch! That's some hot water!"
Guard 1-"Captain! Quickly begin moving the ship!"
The ship begins to turn to leave the area.
Guard 1-"Wind skill: air gust!"
Guard 1 blasts out a burst of air into the sails of the ship to speed it up.
Guard 1-"I'll focus on getting the ship out of here! You three watch for the monster!"
The other three guards head to the back of the ship.
Guard 2-"Alright you molten monstrosity. Where are you?"
The water begins to bubble again behind the ship.
Guard 3-"It's resurfacing"
Guard 2-"Get your barriers ready"
The monster rises from the ocean. Instead of just its head this time it's the entire upper torso. The monster had a humanoid shape but is missing the hand the guards cut off.
Guard 4-"Destroy the head!"
Guard 2-"Lightning skill: piercing bolt!"
Guard 2 Unleashes a beam of concentrated electricity aimed at the monster's head. It's bursts through leaving a small hole.
Guard 2-"Direct hit"
Guard 4-"Good! Now we need to he ready! If it falls forward we need to put a barrier up to stop it from landing on the boat!"
The monster wobbles a bit. It then fills in the hole in its head and regenerates its hand.
Guard 3-"The monster can regenerate!"
Guard 2-"It's probably just shifting its mass from one spot to another. If we keep hitting it then it will eventually run out"
Guard 4-"Just like a mud golem!"
The lava monster raises its hand to slam it down.
Guard 2-"Get ready!"
Guards 3 and 4-"Barrier skill: barrier wall"
The two guards remake the barrier. The lava monster begins to lower its arm. Suddenly the monster pops like a bubble sending lava everywhere. Some of the lava hits the barrier bug most of it falls into the ocean.
Guard 1-"What happened?"
Guard 2-"I don't know, it just..."
Guards 2 stops speaking with a bead of sweat running down his face. He slowly turns to look behind him. A mysterious figure appeared between guards 2, 3, and 4.
Guard 3(in his head)-"Who is that, their mana is intense, it's even higher than that lava monster's was"
???-"(yawns and stretches) man talk about a long nap"
The mysterious figure is glowing a bright red. He has white hair and two horns protruding from the top of his head.
Guard 4(in his head)-"Those horns! This guy must be a demon"
???-"Sorry about the big lug of magma. Seems that while I was sleeping my residual mana made that thing. Since I didn't make it on purpose I doubt it would have followed my commands. I suppose I should introduce-"
Guard 3-"Barrier skill: barrier cage!"
Guard 3 makes a spherical barrier around the demon.
Guard 2-"Lightning skill: thunder ball!"
Guard 2 makes a ball of condensed electricity and fires it at the barrier. The barrier makes a small opening to allow the attack to pass through to hit the demon.
???-"How rude. Lava skill: omnidirectional eruption"
The demon creates a small ball of lava in his hand. The ball pops creating a shockwave that shatters the barrier, destroys the thunder ball, and launches the three guards away.
???-"You shouldn't cut a person off when he's talking. Ahem, once again I should I introduce myself. My name is Magmordor and I'm one the previous demon lord's captains"
Guard 2-"(groans) One of the demon lord's captains. That's impossible the demon lord's army was wiped out!"
Magmordor-"Indeed it was, by that unsightly brute who tore through our ranks, he even slayed our incredible demon lord. Although that had to have been around 900 years ago give or take. Surely he's died of old age by now. I figured I would get some revenge on this world he wanted to protect. Make sure this planet becomes a molten wasteland before the next demon lord arrives"
Guard 1(in his head)-"One of the demon lord's captains, according the ranking system the captains range from lower A rank to upper A rank. From his mana he's probably one of the stronger captains"
Guard 1-"You should go ahead and give up. Someone as strong as you couldn't hope to destroy the world. And as for Atlas who destroyed your comrades, he's-"
Magmordor launches out of beam of lava that hits guard 1 in the chest launching him forward and burning his skin.
Magmordor-"I'm aware that there are plenty of powerful people in this world. So therefore, I've been storing up power for the past few centuries"
Magmordor raises his hands and a bubbles start appearing all over the water.
Magmordor-"That first monster was made on accident, but these ones, well they were carefully sculpted, so they're a lot more obedient. And also a lot stronger too"
Dozens of large lava monsters rise from the ocean. Unlike the first lava monster that had a mostly liquid like form, these ones appear more similar to a well made large stone statue covered in red lines.
Guard 2-"No way..."
Magmordor-"That's right! Cower in fear, realize how weak you truly are! I may not be a general, but I've stored up enough power to be the strongest of all the demon captains! I along with my monsters will trample this world into a wasteland!"
A blue beam of light flies through the sky from the Kaiju Archipelago. The beam hits one of the new lava monsters and destroys half of its body.
Magmordor-"...What?"
The blue light starts to descend from the air towards the demon captain.
Julius-"Good thing you were flaunting your mana around so much. Made it easy to detect you"
Multiple other people fly in from behind Julius and land on the ship's deck. The other people are revealed to be the rest of the members of the technomancers.
Elise-"You picked a bad time and place to show up. I've been looking for a new punching bag"
