The technomancers are going up to the reception desk at the hotel. They talk to the receptionist who is a deer beastfolk woman.
Marigold-"Yes we're checking into some rooms. The cruise provided us with some"
Receptionist-"Do you have the room keys with you?"
Adam-"I have them"
Adam hands the receptionist two room keys.
Receptionist-"It looks like your rooms will be rooms eleven and thirty-two"
Joe-"I guess our rooms are on different floors"
Adam-"Hold on, the keys said rooms thirty-two and thirty-three"
Receptionist-"I'm sorry, there was a booking error. Room thirty-three was already booked by someone else. So the only other available room was room eleven"
Marigold-"I thought that rooms thirty-two and thirty-three were the only open rooms"
Receptionist-"Luckily for you the person who had booked room eleven had cancelled"
Adam-"Alright, well who wants which room"
Receptionist-"Oh I'm sorry, there's another important detail"
Adam-"What?"
Receptionist-"Room eleven is one of our smaller rooms, meant for smaller species of beastfolk as well as fairies or gnomes. You won't be able to fit"
Damion-"...Then why offer it?"
Elise-"He's right, that seems like a major detail to leave out"
Receptionist-"I'm deeply sorry, but it's the only spare room we have. If you don't have a group member who can stay in that room you can forfeit the room"
Marigold-"Well, if Julius shrinks me back down I can stay there"
Elise-"There's no way you get a room all to yourself, I'll be staying there too"
Receptionist-"I'm afraid you won't be able to fit ma'am-"
Julius-"It's alright, my size changing skills can be used to shrink Elise down too just like how I grew Marigold"
The receptionist looks at the floating glowing blue dot that is Julius with confusion.
Receptionist-"Um-"
Julius-"Oh right, I'm a living atom. Sorry it's been a while since I've talked with people who didn't know that"
Receptionist-"I see... well if your skills are temporary I wouldn't want her to grow inside of the room. She could get hurt and it would damage the room"
Julius-"Don't worry, the skills last until I reverse the effects. So you don't have to worry about that"
Receptionist-"I see, well will you also be staying in that room then"
Julius-"No, I'll stay in room thirty-two with everyone else. I don't take up much space"
Joe-"And you don't sleep either. Which was very helpful on the archipelago"
Julius-"I doubt you guys could have survived there without me"
Elise-"We would have been just fine"
Julius-"Sure you would have"
Receptionist-"Well very well, who all will be staying in which rooms"
Elise-"Marigold and I will be staying in room eleven. Everyone else can stay in room thirty-two"
Joe-"How many beds are there?"
Receptionist-"Room thirty-two is one of our group rooms that has four beds"
Adam-"Well that works out well for us"
Receptionist-"Well you're all set to head to your rooms"
Marigold-"Thank you"
The group walks down the hallway for rooms ten through nineteen.
Julius-"Yeah, the doors are all very small. Sorry to shrink you back down again Marigold, I know you wanted to stay human sized for a little longer"
Marigold-"It's fine, not worth being an inconvenience"
Elise-"Get it over with"
Julius-"Shrink skill: shrink others. And omni particle control: boson siphon"
Marigold is shrunken down back to her original size of less than a foot tall while Elise is also shrunken down to that size.
Julius-"I used boson siphon to reduce your weight too. Otherwise it would be a hassle to walk around at a small size while still weighing almost two hundred pounds"
Adam-"Wow so small, you're so adorable Elise. And I thought you hated being shorter than me"
Elise-"I can still beat you up at this size"
Adam-"Try it, I bet you can't even reach me-"
Elise quickly throws a small plasma ball that hits Adam in the face. It burns his left eyebrow off. Adam stands there for a moment with his face smoking.
Adam-"...I'll get you back for that"
Elise-"Sure you will"
Elise smugly opens the door and walks into the tiny hotel room and closes the door behind her.
Joe-"She must have whispered, I didn't hear her cast that spell"
Marigold-"Smaller voicebox, I'm kind of shouting whenever I'm talking to you guys"
Elise opens up the door and walks out of the room.
Elise-"Hey guys, there's only one bed in here"
Adam-"There is?"
The receptionist walks up behind them.
Receptionist-"You find your rooms okay?"
Julius-"Elise said that there's only one bed in that room"
Receptionist-"Oh I'm sorry, I completely forgot that room eleven is only a one bedroom room"
Joe and Adam (in their heads)-"Isn't it your job to remember that stuff"
Receptionist-"Well since there's only one bed, we can-"
Julius-"It's alright, I'll just make another bed"
Julius floats into the small room.
Julius-"Earth skill: rock creation"
Julius creates a small rock.
Julius-"Omni particle control: construction"
Julius transforms the rock into a comfortable tiny bed.
Julius-"There we go, I can get rid of the bed when we're done"
Receptionist-"Oh well, I can see you all don't need any help. I hope you have a good stay"
The receptionist turns around and walks away.
Elise(in her head)-"I'm getting a weird feeling from that receptionist"
Marigold-"Well I'm gonna head to bed now"
Elise-"I'll take the bed Julius made, it's probably more comfortable"
Elise and Marigold walk into their room. The rest of the group walks upstairs to head to their room. They stop at door number thirty-two and walk inside.
Damion-"Nice room"
Joe walks over and sits on one of the beds.
Joe-"I wonder who cancelled their stay at room eleven"
Julius-"That's strange that they would cancel. I mean, all of the people in this side of the hotel were on the cruise, so if they cancelled where are they staying before we leave?"
Adam-"Maybe they just picked a different hotel that they liked more"
Damion-"Or maybe they had an emergency and had to end their vacation early"
Joe-"Maybe, I'm just getting a bit of a weird feeling"
Adam-"Me too"
Julius-"I'm sure it's just our survival instincts from being on the Kaiju Archipelago for so long. I'm certain nothing on this island is as dangerous as the things we fought on there"
Meanwhile in an employee only conference room. The deer beastfolk receptionist lady is talking to the deer beastfolk man that Marigold saw earlier.
Receptionist-"I'm sorry, I tried to separate her from the rest of their group. But that strange glowing thing was able to shrink the elf girl down with her and create a second bed after we took the first bed out"
Deer beastfolk-"It's alright my sister. I get the feeling that Julius could be troublesome. For now let's just wait a few hours until they all fall asleep"
