Julius(in his head)-"Natural spacial distortion without magic? But to do that that demon would have to- be a, fourth dimensional being right?"
Voice-"You deduction is likely accurate"
Julius(in his head)-"You told me about them back on the island. When I asked you about how powerful the enemies are that I could face. You said that there are higher dimensional beings"
Voice-"You should consider yourself lucky it's only a fourth dimensional being and not a higher one"
Julius(in his head)-"Either way there's nothing I can do. It's impossible for a three dimensional being to defat a four dimensional being"
Voice-"For now the demon doesn't seem to be hostile so you should take this chance to construct a plan defeat them with the new skills you acquired"
Voice-"You should be fine, demons operate on more of a raw power strategy over trickery when it comes to their skills"
Julius(in his head)-"Okay, but aren't you the one who has my survival as your top priority, this is a fight I should escape from"
Voice-"Do you think it would be possible for a two dimensional being to hide from a three dimensional being? A stick figure hiding in a 2d box would be just as visible to a 3d being as they would be if they were standing out in the open"
The doctor-"Are you coming... oh dear I'm sorry, I've neglected to ask your name"
Julius(in his head)-"Should I tell him, or do you think he has some kind of name magic?"
Voice-"You should be fine, demons operate on more of a raw power strategy over trickery when it comes to their skills. However even if he doesn't have a name based skill they could still use your name to track down your companions"
Julius(in his head)-"I should probably give him a fake name"
The doctor-"I didn't think it was such a complex question"
Julius-"It's, Joseph"
Voice-"Did you have to pick a name that starts with J?"
Julius(in his head)-"Hey it's not similar, it's like I picked Jolius or something?"
The doctor-"You're right, Jolius would have been a much worse cover name"
Julius-"You read my mind?"
Julius(in his head)-"I thought you could prevent that"
Voice-"It seems this creature isn't using a spell to read your mind"
The doctor-"Well it's not reading your mind per se. My many eyes are very perceptive, I see matter down to the informational level, it's why I could see you so easily. Seeing the world so precisely allows me to read the fluctuations in one's mind. You're are a bit different on account of not having an organic brain. But after examining the movements of your electron probability cloud I determined that the fluctuations of your electrons determined your mental state. Which is quite interesting since that would technically mean your brain is on the outside of your body. I compared these movements of your electrons to your speech and was able to form a translation of your thoughts to your speech. Now even if you don't create sound I can still tell what you would have said. Although there's one thing that's been puzzling me for the last three minutes and fourteen seconds.
Julius-"Which is?"
The doctor-"Who are you talking to? Do you have a mental link with someone?"
Julius-"You can't hear the voice, although I guess you aren't hearing my own mind more like reading it. I had theorized that my electrons had something to do with my mental state but you confirmed it very quickly"
The doctor-"I still have other questions, such as how you can condense so much mana down to such a precise point to be maintained inside of your nucleus. If a creature weighing around 90 kilograms were to have mana that dense in every atom of its body, they would have more power than me. But before we get off track, I still want to know who you're talking too"
Julius-"First, can I ask a question?"
The doctor-"Very well"
Julius-"Why would demons not use trickery, the um. Person I'm talking to said you probably wouldn't and would instead rely on raw power. That doesn't sound like a demon to me"
The doctor-"I don't know why you'd have the assumption of demons being tricksters. But we aren't brutes either. The reason our skills aren't based in trickery is that we were all created by whichever demon lord we serve. And the demon lord doesn't want to take the chance of one of their demons overthrowing him. So he makes sure that none of us have a skill that could be used to defeat him. Although, in his centuries if absence I have obtained some new skills that one could consider, trickery"
Julius-"What kind of skills did you acquire?"
The doctor-"Allow me to give you a demonstration of what I've accomplished, follow me"
The doctor walks down the hallway that they were transported into. Julius follows him. They walk through the dirt tunnel eventually arriving at a strange featureless room that is completely glowing white.
Julius-"There's not a single bacteria in here. And the air is also very pure"
The doctor-"The entire space here is completely sterilized for my experiments. This is one of my more recent ones"
Julius floats over and looks into a hole in the ground that's glowing white like the rest of the room. In the hole there is a large orange slime with various tendrils extending from it covering the walls and pulsing.
The doctor-"Aren't they beautiful?"
