After Sukuna finished up his secret meetings, he joined up with Charlie at the zoo, and together with Emily went to the courtroom. Not wanting to drag this matter out, the angels settled in the room quickly, expectantly looking at the two demons at the table. The bigger one just sat there, looking bored with closed eyes, the smaller one however was gathering documents, putting them in order, and taking deep breaths to try to calm her nerves.
"We're gathered here today, to determine whether or not a soul in Hell can be redeemed into the heavenly realm by means of this 'Hazbin Hotel'." Sera opened, presenting the case to the gathered angels. "Princess Morningstar, please." she called on Charlie to continue.
"Thank you, Seraphim. Uhm..." she started nervously, but quickly calmed herself. "At our hotel, we have multiple patrons who posess the will to do good and help others, but they lack the power to break free from their bonds, and get a fair shot at trying." she said confidently.
"If you have any actual evidence, then show it already." Adam butted in impatiently.
"We have a patron right now who is making incredible progress." Charlie retorted.
"Who?" asked Adam.
"Angel Dust." she said.
"Oh yeah, the porn demon. Because he's sooo worthy of being redeemed." Adam said ironically.
"If you know so much.." Sukuna said without opening his eyes, "why don't you enlighten us about what it takes to enter Heaven?" he taunted the angel, which caught Adam off guard.
However, Adam couldn't asnwer. He just stood there, trying to make something up, as even the Seraphim called on him.
"Just give me a fucking second, okay?" Adam yelled, startling the other angels.
"Could it be? None of you actually know what it takes to enter Heaven?" Charlie asked, not believing what was happening around her.
"How could he? From what I can see, none of those present actually knows. Including the Seraphim." Sukuna said, one eye opened, as the conversation was finally the way he wanted.
"Alright, I'm done. Here." Adam finally turned back, shooting them a piece of golden paper, which Charlie read out loud.
"Act selfless, don't steal, stick it to the man." she couldn't believe it. "Are you serious?" she asked.
"Yup. Worked for me." Adam said smugly.
"Well...he was the first human soul in Heaven." Sera said unsure.
"So, why don't we check on Angel Dust right now? I bet he's doing all of those things right now." Charlie said confidently.
All of the hotel residents could be seen sitting on a couch, while Cherri brought them shots.
"Come on Cherri, she's like ten pounds soaking wet, how well do you think she can hold her...." Angel started, but she lost sight of Niffty. "Ahh damint Niffty!" Angel said as he spotted her, disturbing some other demon's drinking game as he went over to get her. "That's enough for tonight, come on." He grabbed her tiny body, but she slipped out of her hands halfway back to their tables.
"Come one Angie, you're supposed to have a good time, not play fucking nanny!" Cherri said irritated about her friend's change.
"I can't let her get fucked up while we're supposed to take care of her." Angel said, spotting Niffty again, this time trying to steal chemicals from a broomcloset. "Stop that Niffty! Come on! You can play with Husker!" Angel said to her, which finally got her attention.
"I can play with the Kitty?" Niffty said, tears gathering in her eyes.
"Sure you can." Angel said happily while walking back to the table, and putting Niffty on top of Husker's head. "Just go with it please. She's pretty out of it." he pleaded, and Husker reluctantly agreed, seeing as they were ready to leave anyway.
"You know, we could do parties like this every night, you don't have to spend all your off work hours working on yourself, you bitch." Cherri tried to convince Angel.
"If you really want to know, these parties didn't ruin his life. It was...whatshisname.." Husker said, but he couldn't recall.
"Valentino." Angel said shocked.
"Yep. That fuck." Husker nodded.
"No. Valentino. He's here." Angel said still shocked, pointing to one of the corners, where sat the infamous Overlord of Porn, Valentino of the Vs.
"Ah fuck, where did Niffty go?" Husker suddenly said. They all started too look around, and Angel spotted the tiny demon running toward the corner he just pointed to.
"Oh no!" Angel immidiately ran after her, and managed to catch up and grab Niffty just before she could reach the Overlord.
"Well, if it isn't Angel Dust. What are you doing here? Did you get kicked out of that failed hotel already?" Valentino taunted him, a wide smile on his face.
"Fuck off, I'm not here for you." Angel dismissed him.
"The fuck did you just say to me?" Valentino asked back, getting furious.
"Oh-oh.." Husker whispered, and started to make his was towards his friends, in case they needed help.
"You hear me." Angel said again. "I said FUCK OFF!" he yelled, silencing the whole club.
"Did you forget who you're talking to? I OWN you!" Valentino said enraged, as he summoned Angel's pact chain, taking the form of a collar around his neck made out of red mist.
"Yes, you own me. In the studio. But not here." Angel was getting truly furious.
"Not for long.." Husker said, catching everyone's attention. "The deal of Angel Dust and Valentino." he said, further confusing everyone, until the chain connecting the two mentioned demons suddenly shattered into nothing.
"What!" yelled Valentino and Angel at the same time. The other demons at this point rushed out of the club, fearing for their lives.
"How did you..WHAT!" Valentino enraged looked at Husker, who had a pack of cards in one hand, and a couple of dice in the other. "What's done is done. If you don't like it, take it up with my boss." Husker said to the Overlord, already pushing his friends towards the exit.
"And who would your boss be? I hope you don't mean the Princess, 'cause then you're in deep shit!" Valentino still cdidn't fully understand that he lost any hold on Angel he had.
"No. I mean Ryomen Sukuna." Husker said his final words, and with that, they left the disco.
"See? He did everything on the checklist!" Charlie announced. The whole situation played for everyone to see through the portal Adam created, except the part where Husker named his boss, at which point some intereference conviniently distorted the sound and image.
"Then why isn't he here then? Hm?" Adam asked, getting nervous by the second.
"Yeah. Why isn't he here?" Emily asked, utterly confused by this. All the angels gathered were murmuring to each other, confused as well.
"You truly have no idea how Heaven and Hell work do you? Pigeons?" Sukuna taunted all of them, laughing.
"This case is utter waste of time! Why should we bother with you losers when you fucked up your chance already?" Adam said angrily. "Have to say, this hearing got me fired up, maybe I'll move up the Extermination to even earlier!" he yelled.
"Adam!" Sera's thundering voice cut through the shocked courtroom.
"What! What are you saying? Our angels go down there to murder those poor souls?" Emily couldn't believe it. "Sera, is this true? Tell me you didn't know about this!" she pleaded.
"I had to do what was necessary. You're too young, I needed to protect our people." Sera said, a deranged look in her eyes.
The courtoom was in chaos. All the other angels were now openly yelling, some at Adam and Lute, some at Sera, and some at Charlie and Sukuna. What everyone failed to miss, was a small crack under one of the balconies, seemingly hovering mid air. On the other side of the crack, Heaven's sky could be seen, and everything that was said in the room could be heard all around Heaven. Sukuna was grinning, enjoying the chaos he has created, and imagined the fallout in the rest of Heaven.
"I'll let you all in on a little secret.." Sukuna raised his voice, silencing everyone in the room. "About how all this works. It's only when one dies, that they get judged again, not while they are alive. Demons can ascend to the Heavens, after they died. Angels can fall to Hell, but only after they die. But since Heaven is so peaceful, noone ever died...Well except ofcourse some of the exorcists." he chuckled, looking at Adam and Lute. "Regarding the Extermination, some of the people your angels murdered ended up ascending to Heaven as well. Funny isn't it?" At this point he was laughing out loud. "So, here is my question: If all of you died, right now. How many of you would end up back here? Hmm?" he asked with a terrifying grin on his face, his two hands nearly touching each other in a certain shape.
"Sukuna...you knew all of this, yet you didn't say anything?" Charlie couldn't believe it. She was lied to. By her guardian no less.
"W..wait..YOU are SUKUNA?!?" Adam muttered, terrified by hearing that name.
"Charlie, I'll tell you everything later, but not now." Sukuna sternly said, not leaving room for discussion. As tears threatend to fall from her eyes, she hid behind Sukuna. Even though he lied to her, she didn't believe he would harm her.
"So. For now, let's see Adam makes it back here." Sukuna said, and Adam's body got suddenly shredded, not a single recognizable piece remaining. "And with that, we'll be on our way." Sukuna swiped his hand a crack expanding in spance, with their Hotel on the other side. However, one last time he turned back, looking at Sera. "You might want to look outside. Our little conversation might have gotten out." he smirked and closed the portal behind him.
