It was subtle, but Alexandra could clearly hear the shakiness that took control of Kelly's voice from the other end of the line. Her eyes widened and she felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach and her mind started to race with all the endless questions and thoughts that popped into her head at that very moment. Her heart was racing much faster than usual, a brief silence was exchanged between them and her face wore a serious expression.
The yells and sharp screams echoed through the phone and rang in her ears, snapping her back to the present. Her brows were knitted together into a small frown as concern swirled within her dark brown eyes.
"I will be right there."
Without wasting another second, she dropped everything she was doing right there and then without asking another question. Before she knew it, Kelly who was standing a good distance away from Elisha was watching her burst through the front door of the cafe with an anxious look etched onto her face.
