The ruined city changed when the seven seals joined.
Walls that had stood for centuries folded into the streets. Bridges extended from broken towers, forming a route toward the central platform. Other passages sealed behind slabs of rising stone. The dungeon did not allow the qualifying team to wander or hide.
It directed them toward the gate.
The first guardians appeared before the elites crossed the second bridge.
They were smaller than the Colossus and too numerous to fight individually. Stone figures climbed from windows and roof openings, their bodies incomplete until pieces of the surrounding ruins attached themselves to them. Some carried no weapons. Others tore rails from the bridge and used them as clubs.
Aderic kept the team moving.
