Kincaid waited until he had organized the announcement into confirmed facts, reasonable conclusions, and unanswered questions.
Then he sent Max a communication request.
Sovereign Consent opened a vertical window in Max's office. Max sat behind his desk reviewing a construction estimate. Anna occupied the chair beside him with a clipboard balanced across one knee.
"You look happier than the last time you called." Max said.
"I have better news."
Max set the estimate aside. "That would explain it."
"The Elder God gathered the remaining minor gods." Kincaid began. "Exactly ninety-six champions passed the latest challenge."
Max glanced at Anna. "Fewer than I expected."
"Each seven-seal dungeon held three teams and produced one winner. I do not know how many challenge dungeons were created or whether every champion sent a team. Ninety-six is the confirmed result."
"What happens next?" Anna asked.
"Not immediately another challenge. We have six months."
