"Your majesty, your horses are adorned and ready," the general on his knees said, careful not to look his queen in the eye, out of respect. But perhaps it was for the fear of the woman who ran the kingdom with so much kindness.
Shenxia was a kind kingdom, but its queen was nothing of the sort beneath the smiles that warmed hearts and the compassion that saw so many of its citizens trust in the monarchy.
Many whispered she was the reminder of the balance of life. That for good to reign, evil had to be part of them. It was supposed to be alright, but there was nothing scarier than the queen of Shenxia being that evil.
The evil that never openly did anything evil in Shenxia because she was a follower of the rules that the kingdom had.
"General Xu Ning, I shall travel via portals. I have no need for a horse," the warlock queen said as she stood at the balcony of the grand citadel. She had been standing there for hours on end in the past few months.
