Sian reached the dining hall with her servants. The two of them stopped at the entrance, while she entered alone.
All the family members were already seated. Those who noticed her arrival made faces, while others simply ignored her existence.
Awkwardly, Sian took the empty chair at the far end of the table.
Yi Sian's father sat at the head of the table. When everyone had gathered, he cleared his throat and spoke:
"It's very nice to have everyone together. I prepared a feast, so eat as much as you want. Today, I have great news. Ahem. I have been promoted to a higher government position, and in just a few days, we'll be moving to the capital. My lovely daughters, brave sons, and my wives will all come with me. I've even bought us a new house—much bigger than this one."
The room erupted in cheers. Everyone was thrilled at the idea of moving to the capital.
One of the older daughters leaned forward eagerly. "Father, you are the best! I am so proud to be your daughter."
The eldest son declared, "Father, I'll help you however I can. I'll make my name in the capital and bring honor to you."
Compliments and cheers filled the hall. Concubines hurried to serve wine and food, their smiles glowing with pride.
Meanwhile, Sian was busy stuffing her mouth with food after mumbling a "congratulations" that no one even heard.
Chicken skewers, noodles, spring rolls, soup—so many dishes! Back in her world, she'd need her mom's permission and plenty of money just to order this much takeout. And what Asian mom would let her kid order takeout when there was home-cooked food waiting?
Not wasting a moment, she happily devoured the feast.
Yi Sian's father soon noticed. "Ahem!" he called, drawing everyone's attention—except hers. "Yi Sian, don't you want to congratulate your father?"
Sian looked up from her food. "I did. You just didn't listen… Father."
It felt strange to call someone father when he wasn't truly hers—at least not in her mind.
"Disrespectful! How can you speak like that?" the eldest son shouted, standing up.
"What? But it's true," Sian said, chewing on a piece of fried chicken breast. She wasn't used to the honorifics and formal speech of this era.
"You—!"
"Sit down, son," their father interrupted. "It's fine. Perhaps I didn't hear her. Yi Sian, I was thinking… how about you stay here in this mansion to take care of it? I can't leave it abandoned. Someone has to watch over it, and really, what would you do in the capital anyway?"
Everyone turned toward her, sparks of joy flickering across their faces.
Sian smiled. This was exactly what she wanted.
"Okay, Father, if that's what you want. But I have a request. I've never asked you for anything before. Please consider this my first and last one."
"Oh?" He leaned forward, intrigued. "What is your request?"
"I want the ownership of one or two of the shops you manage. When you all leave, they'll be deserted. Without supervision, someone else might seize them. And if I'm staying here, I'll need food, which means I'll need money. That money can come from the shop."
She stood up as she spoke. She wasn't about to starve or scramble for odd jobs when there was a perfectly good way to earn.
Her father raised his brows. "You want the shops? I had planned to leave them with the workers or your brothers, but since they're coming with me… hmm. This is unexpected. But I'm happy you asked. Very well. I'll give you the shops. San!" He turned to his servant. "Bring me the ownership papers."
"Father, how could you give them to her? She doesn't even know how to run a shop!" the younger brother protested.
"Yeah, Father! She doesn't even know accounts," one sister added. The other quickly chimed in, "She'll ruin the shops and our family's name."
But their father shook his head firmly. "I can't go back on my word. As head of this family, I must stand by my decision. Besides, she is willing to stay here."
"But Father—!"
"Enough. This is my final decision."
Their faces turned red with frustration. Sian ignored them, happily returning to her food.
San returned with the documents.
"Yi Sian, come here and sign these papers," her father said with a rare smile. For the first time, he felt proud of her. Unlike his other daughters, who only asked for jewelry or dresses, Yi Sian had requested something meaningful.
Sian stepped forward, took the papers, and carefully read through them. To everyone's surprise, she could actually read.
The Yi Sian they knew was timid and clueless. Now, it was as if she'd become a different person altogether.
After confirming the details, she stamped and signed the papers.
"Yi Sian, I entrust these to you now. Take good care of them," her father said, patting her shoulder.
"I will. Thank you… Father." She spoke politely, then returned to her seat.
The rest of the meal was a mix of grumbling faces and forced smiles.
After dinner, Sian bid her father goodnight and returned to her room.

Sian POV :-
Finally some peace , the faces of those old people were terrible when the characters father gave me the ownership. This 'Yi Sian ' sure made some enemies I must say. But I don't have to worry now, according to the plot after three days everyone in this house will leave for the capital , the two servants I have will also leave for their hometown. After a few months the ML and other characters will come here to rest, because the character made her house an inn for travelers to earn money, then they will face some troubles and all which I don't really remember but one things for sure I'll be involved in it . That's why I plan to earn as much money I can , I'll not change the plot completely when the Leads come I'll let them rent the house and earn quite money from them too, I'm not serving them for nothing.
Oh here comes those two .
" Miss , we prepared your bed and night clothes." The girl said to me her name is Xiao zi , I think .
" Miss , how was your dinner, you were so excited about it" the younger boy , Xiao Li, said jumping excitedly.
" it was great actually, I even got the ownership of the shop father was handling. So I'll be earning some money from them, they are leaving for the capital in three days afterall ." As I said that I saw a sad expression on both of them .
" We know that Miss, we also have a sad news for you ." Here it comes the news of them leaving from here , both of them look like they are about to cry.
I listen attentively anyway even after knowing.
" In three days we are also going back to our parents, out contract is over now that the master is leaving." Both of them were crying waterfalls now. I hold them in a hug, they are Yi Sian best friend after all.
" Don't worry, I'll visit you both when I make some money , I'll bring souvenirs too."
" Miss congratulations for the ownership master gave you, when we have the permission we will also visit you." The younger boy said as I wiped his tears.
" Okay, when you come I'll treat you in a good restaurant and we will visit many places too."
" Yes miss!!" Both of them said happily .
We chatted for a while, laughing and talking about the places we will visit later. It's even a long time since I talked to someone like this through they are a little younger than me but they are fun to talk, like my sister, I suddenly miss her now I wonder what she is doing now.
It was late now , I dropped the siblings back to there room.
" Goodnight." I said.
" Goodnight miss." Both of them said happily but I can see they are sleepy .
I head to my room , fresh up and lay down on my bed. I was so exhausted from all the things that happened today, well I am exhausted everyday but today I was exhausted mentally the most.
These really feels like a dream now but it isn't, what I miss the most now is my mobile wait!!!
I suddenly got up from the bed remembering by brief case. I put it on the corner I think.
I hid that before I left for the dinner, I opened it after entering the password, all my equipment and my offline phone was in there. Technology is really advanced these days , we don't have to connect to the network at all, I paid so much money on this and the instalment is not completed yet but who will ask now.
My brief case contains my mission equipment that I need , and I have a solar power bank here too, good thing the system let me have this.
I lay down on my bed as I watched video on my phone for a while before going back to sleep.
Hoping the plan that I had made will be a success and I complete the plot quickly so that I can find a way to go back or I can find a way to live here peacefully without any trouble.
Sian fell into her dreamland but she didn't know that someone was going to come in her life that will destroy her plan and the peaceful life she plan ahead. But this trouble will be sweet and salty just as she likes .
