"Oh, you sure" Lex halted, his interest was piqued as he turned to scrutinized Selena seemly curious if she was lying
Selena instantly regretted her decision as she had to bear a predatory stare filled with indifference and boredom
"Yes--" she gathered up her courage and respond while she waiting anxiously
"Let's get going then, no time to waste" Lex said after a moment of silence
Before she could comment on it though, the rains began to reduce and something even more odd attracted the attention of everyone present.
"Do you all hear that?" Ezmarelda, one of girls in the group voiced with furrowed brows while looking towards the distance
The others immediately showed identical expressions of concern and did the same as her.
As the rain reduced, faint screams and cries could be heard, seemingly coming from all the building not too far away from them
"Those are the cries of people; we have to act now before they-!!"
Argus showed both worry and anger as he tried to urge the others to act.
However, in that very moment, the figure of a human could be seen falling high from the air
The airborne human's cries didn't cease and only grew louder as he began falling to the ground.
"Help me please!! Hel-!"
His cries would be cut short as he made contact with hard ground, becoming a meaty paste in an instant and leaving everyone speechless.

Panicked voices and hurried footsteps echoed from the direction of the central dwelling
The scene was one of sheer pandemonium.
Buildings crumbled under the force of explosions, while humans fought valiantly to protect their home.
Amidst the chaos, two figures stood out among the attackers, taller and more bulkier than their comarades with broad wings and wielding massive bone maces
One of the winged figures was slimmer and of average in height, yet his movements exuded a deadly precision.
The other, however, stood at a towering height even greater than that two feet's.
With every swing of his boney mace, the ground trembled, creating shockwaves that further intensified the chaos with dozens of humans being smashed into meat pastes
A woman seeing as the giant creature was Infront of her, her eyes widening with alarm, shouted, "Help!" while shielding her two young twins behind her
The winged creature ignored her cries and sped up while swinging it's mace towards them
But before the winged figure could reach them, a powerful force crashed into his shoulder, bringing his attack to a sudden halt and sending it off balance.
It was Argus, his expression firm as he stood between the enemy and the group of strange humanoid creatures.
Tension rose between them before they simultaneously charged at each other
A bright saber gleam lit up like a stream of spring water jetting across the air, clear and pure.
In a split second, the crescent-shaped saber gleam had hacked several times at the huge humanoid creature
"SWOOSH!"
Sensing danger, Argus with a wave of his long saber, a thick gust of wind howled like a typhoon smashing the back of his saber into a creatures arm and used the momentum to catch his breath.
Seeing as the creature didn't even have a scratch, Argus gritted his teeth and activated a powerful skill

Just at that moment, a shadow shot forward from the side and collided with him
"BOOM!!!"
Two immensely powerful figures collided squarely with each other in midair.
"ROAR!!!"
"HAAA!!!"
At almost the same moment, ear-piercing and deafening roars rang out from both of them. Then, like two ferocious beasts, they pounced at each other again.
"DANG!!! DANG!!! DANG!!!"
Thundering clashes rang out, shaking the bystanders to the core till thier limbs were limp.
"KA-CHA!"
A streak of lightning flashed across the sky, lighting up the two who were exchanging blows.
Compared to previously, Argus's body had expanded by a fold.
Thick bands of muscles covered his body, veins popping up in them as a violent red aura surrounded his body
He swung both sabers at his opponent in a frenzy, smashing like it was a hammer
And yet the humanoid creature was able to receive every one of those blows without having even a scratch
The others quickly arrived at the scene as one of the warriors stared at the duo and almost cried out in shock.
The one currently locked in combat with Argus was grayish black all over.
His skin was completely exposed, rotting muscles and gangrenous blood vessels visible through it.
His eyes were a patch of white. His stature was taller than the average person's, and looked rather skinny and frail. And yet, his explosive strength was horrifyingly powerful!
"DANG!"
Another saber strike hacked at the opponent, incredulously, the razor-sharp saber left no wound at all on this creature's body despite the boost in strength behind it and it even shattered into pieces
"I'm not buying it!!!" Savagery arose in Argus's heart.
He was about to activate his most powerful Skill.
"Captain, that creature is a Horduk, It's defence are as tough as an armored tank, It's practically indestructible! for us" the warrior's anxious voice rang out from afar.
"Defence of a tank? Indestructible?" Argus's face turned ugly as the violent red aura surrounding him grew much more distinct.
He gripped onto the last remaining saber with both hands, channeling power from his entire body and accumulating it in one spot.
"Override!!!" it was a saber technique he learned and perfected since before the apocalypse, as well as his most powerful attack.
This Override carried all his accumulated energy and concentration
Under the moonlight, it burst out like a lightning bolt and landed on top of the Harduk's head.
"DIE!!!" Argus roared like an insane beast, ramming his the broken blade straight into the Harduk's eyes with his entire body's momentum under the activation of the override skill
"DANG!!!"
The trembling saber hilt directly sunk into the Harduk's head and under the compression of immense force, the saber exploded into countless shards which destroyed the Harduk's brain!
Innumerable shards burst out like rain.
The Harduk was slammed into flying backwards by the recoil as countless broken blade shards pierced wreaked havoc in it's brain.
It was a terrible sight to behold. It roared in anger, then fell and rolled on the ground. Its upper torso lit-up and started burning hot like a steam cage, white steam and a charred stench rising up from his head
"Roar!!!"
Rolling on the ground, the Harduk gave its final roar, and then layed lifeless on the hard floor
