Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 The Beautiful Peach Blossom_1

"Old Man" was their nickname for the homeroom teacher. Their homeroom teacher, Chen Sheng, was a middle-aged man, knowledgeable and rather upright, but he was incredibly long-winded, earning him the well-deserved nickname.

Chen Sheng walked into the classroom holding a book, and the once noisy classroom instantly fell silent. Everyone's eyes were fixed on the sunny boy beside Chen Sheng. His figure was tall and slender, his backpack slung casually over one shoulder. His skin was so pale it was almost transparent, and his narrow, peach-blossom eyes held a faint smile that utterly bewitched all the girls. His sexy lips curled slightly.

As soon as Chen Sheng entered the classroom, his sharp gaze fell fiercely on Shangguan You in the corner. Only then did he slowly begin to speak, "Today, a new student is joining our class, Gui Mo. Let's welcome him."

Gui Mo's lips curved up slightly, the smile deepening on his devilishly handsome face. His peach-blossom eyes scanned the classroom before resting on the frail figure in the corner, whose glasses were both unfashionable and ugly. His tall frame moved forward a step, and his voice, carrying a unique magnetism, said, "I'm Gui Mo."

Warm applause immediately filled the classroom, with Feng Shaomei and girls like her clapping the loudest. No one had expected that, in addition to Lan Xuan and Han Yachu, there would be such a charming Gui Mo. From then on, the school's list of heartthrobs would have one more name.

Shangguan You didn't even lift her eyes. No matter who he was, men were all the same—not a single good one among them. This was Class A of the First High, and its students were the elite of the school. Their academic performance was outstanding; they had all earned their places with genuine results, and the teaching staff was also the strongest.

Shangguan You was definitely an exception in Class A.

"Alright, Gui Mo, find any seat for now. We'll arrange a permanent one during the class meeting," Chen Ming said, his voice stern. Gui Mo was someone even the Dean had to appease, so he naturally had to treat him well, or else he'd risk his job. However, as the homeroom teacher, he couldn't be too obvious; taking care of things discreetly would suffice.

"No need. I'll sit here," Gui Mo said with a faint smile, pointing to the last row, right next to Shangguan You.

Shangguan You's deep eyes coldly glanced at the person smiling like a blooming flower, whose peach-blossom eyes seemed to flutter expressively as they fixed on her with deep meaning. Her mouth opened slightly, and she spoke softly, "A fly is about to fly into your mouth."

The smile on Gui Mo's face froze instantly, then a trace of amusement flashed in his peach-blossom eyes. Every woman who saw him was mesmerized, swooning left and right. Yet this one was different, ridiculing him at their first meeting! A chilling aura emanated from him. Fine, just fine... "Alright," he said, "let's start class."

Feng Shaomei watched the sunny, handsome boy actually sit next to that dullard Shangguan You, and her pretty face twisted with envy. Shangguan You, just you wait! Let's see how long you can remain smug!

"Shangguan You, come to the office." The bell had just rung for the end of class when Old Man Chen left these words, his piercing eyes glaring fiercely at Shangguan You as he walked out.

"Youyou, what do we do? What do we do? Feng Shaomei must have snitched! Old Man Chen won't let you off. What do we do?" As soon as Old Man Chen's figure left the classroom, Zhu Li anxiously grabbed Shangguan You, rambling nonstop.

"Feng Shaomei's father is the deputy director of the Bureau of Education! If you go to the office, it'll be bad news for you. Youyou, what do we do? What do we do?"

"I'm fine," Shangguan You replied indifferently, giving Zhu Li a reassuring look. She walked out of the classroom under Feng Shaomei's smug gaze, leaving everyone to see her cool, collected retreating figure.

"Do you need my help?" Gui Mo's attractive peach-blossom eyes fluttered, his smile widening. She's too aloof. I'll definitely shatter that false facade of hers.

"No need." Her brows furrowed slightly, a flash of disgust in her eyes. Leaving behind those two cold words, Shangguan You turned and left the classroom.

Feng Shaomei bit her lips tightly, a triumphant smirk playing on her mouth as she watched Shangguan You leave. A vicious hatred flashed in her eyes. Let's see how long you can stay smug, you ugly, dull-witted fool!

「In the office.」

Old Man Chen sat sternly in his chair, his sharp gaze fixed on Shangguan You, who kept her head lowered, as if he were trying to drill a hole right through her.

He found it hard to believe what Feng Shao'an and Feng Shaomei had said. The most well-behaved and obedient student in class suddenly lashing out and hitting the siblings? Had it not been for the many witnesses and the Dean's warning, Old Man Chen would never have believed it. Although Shangguan You's academic performance wasn't great, and she often daydreamed in class, she was a good student. She never left early, was never tardy, and aside from being a bit slow, a bit dull, and her grades being poor, she respected her teachers and never caused trouble. That was undeniable.

"Teacher Chen, there are no flowers on me," Shangguan You said in a clear, cool voice, raising her head to meet Old Man Chen's gaze with her own deep eyes. She really disliked the way Old Man Chen was looking at her. So what if she'd kicked Feng Shao'an once and slapped Feng Shaomei twice? Was it necessary to treat her like an alien?

Hearing Shangguan You's words, several other teachers couldn't help but chuckle softly. They hadn't expected the usually most wooden and unresponsive student to have such a humorous side. It really showed that you couldn't judge a book by its cover.

"AHEM. Shangguan You, regarding your assault on Feng Shao'an and Feng Shaomei, do you have anything to say?" Old Man Chen coughed lightly to cover his earlier embarrassment.

"Shangguan You, Feng Shao'an is a student in Senior Year Three, Class One. How could you so brazenly assault someone at school? Later, write a self-criticism admitting your mistake, and we will plead for you in front of the Dean of Teaching." Li An, the homeroom teacher of Senior Year Three, Class One, adjusted his glasses, looking at the usually well-behaved student before him. He also found Feng Shao'an a handful. Who didn't know about Feng Shao'an's arrogance and domineering behavior at school? But the influence behind Feng Shao'an was not something their school could afford to offend, so they had to give the two siblings some kind of explanation.

"May I ask, Teachers, if someone knocked you unconscious with a ball, then not only failed to take you to the hospital but also mocked you, pointed at your head, cursed you for faking it, called you ugly, stupid, and a dumb goose, and then blocked your way, preventing you from leaving—would you still be good-tempered enough to reason with them? I think anyone else would have beaten them until they were crying for their parents. What I did was actually quite mild," Shangguan You said, her voice tinged with grievance, her deep eyes welling with tears. She looked angrily at the two teachers before her. She knew, of course, that they wanted her to write a self-criticism for her own good, but did she really have to abase herself like this?
