Miss Cui Mingshan is the Cui Family's Laosan. When her son, Lin Jingyu, was three years old, her husband was assigned to work at the frontier, and he never transferred back for ten years.
Cui Mingshan wrote many letters hoping he would apply to return, but her husband said the work there couldn't do without him. If he were to transfer back, it would have to be through her father's connections, but he was unwilling to do so and decided to plant his roots in the frontier.
Commander Cui did send people to check on him; they came back saying her son-in-law was indeed a top-notch worker there, and none of the leaders and colleagues wanted him to leave. His work ethic was very serious and responsible, and losing him would be a loss for them.
Commander Cui could only let it go.
He still admired people who were serious and responsible about their work.
