Shangguan Linlang was born into a military family and acquired formidable martial arts skills at a young age. She had a rather fiery personality, and her illustrious military achievements made the Royal Family quite wary of her. In the end, she was sealed away by her deeply beloved fiancé—the Monarch of Yulong Country, Han Ziye—using a forbidden sealing magic.
Having just been enthroned as Empress for less than a day, Shangguan Linlang fell into a deep slumber. She thought she would never see the light of day again, but, by a stroke of fate, she was discovered and released by a modern archaeologist, Shangguan Zifeng. The Empress decided to avenge her former disgrace. She went to great lengths to return to ancient times to settle scores with the traitor, Han Ziye. Before the Empress could find him, she herself attracted the attention of the Lord of Demon City—the CEO rumored to have a hand in both the lawful and the underworld, Xuanyuan Wuji.
"Who are you people to act so presumptuously before me?" Xuanyuan Wuji's casual scrutiny infuriated Shangguan Linlang, and in a fit of anger, she assumed the posture of the Empress once again.
"I am Xuanyuan Wuji. I hope to receive your guidance in the future," Xuanyuan Wuji said, a faint smile on his lips.
