In the dead of night, the beach along the Chaoyong River was serene.
The calm ocean surface was unruffled, as though the deep blue waters concealed innumerable unknown terrors.
Gu Yelin parked the RV on the bridge, supporting An Yiqing as they carefully made their way to the beach.
"Ah Lin, go back to the RV and sleep. Don't worry about me."
Feeling helpless, Gu Yelin glanced at the persistent An Yiqing, gently stroked her soft black hair, and left with reluctance, looking back every few steps.
As Gu Yelin's footsteps faded, a warm smile curved up on An Yiqing's lips. She looked up at the night sky, then turned to face the deep blue sea.
Her vision was much better than before; she could vaguely see many things in daylight or well-lit places, but once night fell, she reverted to her previous state.
In this vast Chaoyong River, An Yiqing could only see the faint twinkling of stars in the sky; everything else was pitch black.
