Chapter 212 - Chapter 211 - The News About Severus Snape.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

England.

...

...

At the moment Severus stepped in to help Rosaria, there was no way to hide his actions and true identity anymore.

So, it was no surprise to those who had planned to trap him at the beginning of the Hogwarts school year, with Severus Snape ignoring all the calls for him, that his name, now linked to the second Dark Lord, would appear in every newspaper.

The entire wizarding world was not only shocked that the second Dark Lord was merely a student who had started standing out the previous year, but also in disbelief.

"Are you saying that this Severus Snape started hunting dark wizards since his fifth year, like what happened during the Hogsmeade attack?"

"That sounds way too ridiculous! I don't believe it!"

"A boy... that monster was just a boy, after all?"

"He was studying with my son, how could Hogwarts allow a murderer to walk through the school with a bunch of kids."

"I had already heard about him from my son, he kept others at a distance, even older students suffered at his hands!"

"He's involved both in the events that killed dozens of dark wizards last year and in the chaos in the city with You-Know-Who!"

"By Merlin... he's a monster, worse than the dark wizards..."

"And to think I messed with him last year... if he wants revenge now..."

"My family put some people after Snape as retaliation..."

"He killed Nott and the others, left only me alive... But soon after, he killed my father."

"Severus Snape is this person?! And I was talking to someone so terrible?"

"I knew it! Severus Snape was someone bad! No, he's a monster worse than You-Know-Who!"

"We're without Dumbledore... how is magical England going to handle two Dark Lords fighting each other? One has the Death Eaters, and the other has soldiers no one had ever seen before, but it's some kind of powerful dark magic..."

People kept sharing their opinions and expressing their concerns across England, while no one really knew what they were actually dealing with. But from that day on, England descended into complete chaos.

Those who harbored any resentment toward Snape and all the attacks they had suffered at the hands of the Half-Blood Prince were now mostly terrified, wondering if Snape would now come after them and the clear possibility they would die by his daggers, as he was hunting down each of his enemies, cutting them down with blades, massacring crowds.

Everyone knew that after all the events where Snape had slaughtered hundreds of people, no place seemed safe anymore—he could just walk into any place in England, magical or non-magical, before starting a massive massacre and eliminating whoever he wanted.

The next news had a huge impact, with hundreds of magical reporters chasing information about the mere 17-year-old boy who was shaking the entire magical England. It wouldn't take long before the whole world knew Severus Snape.

There was no more Dumbledore, the greatest wizard of the century, apparently brought down by one of the Dark Lords. Now there were only two powerful dark wizards left, and people were becoming skeptical that anyone could actually deal with them.

The Minister for Magic explained everything he knew in a press briefing in front of the Ministry of Magic while people tried to stay informed.

The Minister explained how his doubts began with the issue of the boy entering paintings without knowing exactly what was happening there, but Severus was doing this inside Hogwarts while the powerful dark wizard with black soldiers was doing the same by invading noble houses in search of paintings.

He explained everything he knew, from Severus as a student to the first movements of the Hogsmeade assassin and the mysterious alchemist, connecting all of their steps and how Severus had deceived the entire school, even Dumbledore himself.

He explained that there had been reports of Severus Snape suddenly increasing in strength without any explanation, starting with the fact that his very appearance had changed.

He continued giving details while reporters asked questions about everything they wanted to know.

The former Minister for Magic was heavily criticized, as it was thanks to her and Severus's manipulation that he managed to deceive the entire wizarding world with Dumbledore's disappearance. There was still information suggesting that Dumbledore was alive, but no one knew for sure—except Severus himself, with newspapers publishing that he was very likely keeping Dumbledore as a hostage.

Other issues raised in the newspapers included the relationship Severus had with his father, whom he had reportedly beaten multiple times and forced to write a disownment letter using a blood quill. This stirred negative reactions, questioning how Snape could do such things to his own father.

Severus was undoubtedly the most talked-about person in England, with people learning more and more about him—his immense talent, his strength, and his dark activities.

The issue also involved his magic directly. No one knew how he could summon black soldiers who could even regenerate after being hit by Avada Kedavra. They were far more powerful than most wizards and the Dark Lord's allies, having wiped out several dark wizards and werewolves.

Everyone was also anticipating a move from the Dark Lord against Severus. But the real question was: how could they even hurt him, if he didn't care about his own father? After all, his father had been attacked the day before by people seeking revenge against Severus, and yet he didn't seem to care. Aurors had to be assigned to protect him.

The Minister for Magic tried everything to position himself as the guardian of Great Britain, claiming he would handle all the problems. And it seemed to be working, since very few people were capable of dealing with two Dark Lords without Dumbledore. Many newspapers described his intelligence and courage during such dark times.

At the same time, he wasn't free from criticism, being heavily questioned for targeting someone as important as Rosaria Valenstein—the youngest daughter of the Dracula family—especially while she was a guest of honor in England. Attacking her ruined that, potentially causing a diplomatic crisis, considering Dracula was powerful enough to control thousands of vampires and could launch an attack in retaliation.

He tried to defend himself from these articles by stating that she had more information about Severus than anyone else, claiming that she even participated in one of Severus's infiltrations while in disguise.

Even so, since it resulted in failure and even forced Severus Snape to appear in a place full of traps—while he didn't even seem affected by the runes placed in the room—it also raised questions of incompetence regarding the Minister.

The Black family was also approached, as it was said they were involved with Severus Snape, since their shop had been sold to him. Many also claimed that Severus had been to the Black mansion several times and had intentions of marrying one of Astraea's granddaughters. However, the Black family made no public statements and remained completely isolated from everything.

Another place they searched for information was Gringotts Bank, where they were looking for anything about Severus. But the goblins refused to answer anything under the threat of closing the accounts of their families—something no one wanted to happen—so anyone who asked questions didn't insist much.

The question was: where was Severus now? Was he preparing to retaliate against the Minister's attacks on Rosaria? The newspapers indicated that Severus had a romantic relationship from student to teacher with her, according to accounts from students, even mentioning Rosaria participating in Severus's criminal activities.

The Greengrass family was contacted, but they made no statement. The same went for the family of the student Pandora—reporters were looking for anyone who had any contact with Severus. Aurors had to step in themselves, also asking questions about Snape, but Pandora said nothing, and they couldn't force it, fearing they too might face retaliation.

As things continued to echo throughout the wizarding world, Clarisse was looking at the newspaper, among several from the last few days.

She was quite surprised by it all. She knew Severus was involved in some things, but nothing compared to what was being said—that he was the feared dark wizard who had emerged leading shadow soldiers.

She felt lost and confronted her father, asking if he knew. It was shocking for her when he confirmed it—that he and Severus had already talked about it, and he had hoped Severus would take the Prince family as his own, to marry her and unite the two. But due to everything that had happened, he couldn't accept Severus now that he was a public criminal.

She was no longer shocked by the situation, but rather by the fact that Severus was this person. She didn't believe he was a bad person, especially since he had only killed evil wizards and dark creatures.

Meanwhile, Lily was locked in her room, with her parents worried about her behavior as she read every newspaper, taking in each report and detail about Severus.

"Who are you really?" she murmured, lost.

She would stay locked in for another day reading the newspapers until a letter arrived, delivered by an owl through her window. Only a few people would still try that, as she had ignored all the correspondence from the past few days—most of it requesting interviews or information about Severus Snape. She had even received a summons from the Ministry, as an old friend of Severus, though she hadn't received as much attention as Pandora, Rosaria, or Clarisse.

She opened the letter and saw that it was from the Order of the Phoenix—an urgent summons, probably to learn everything she knew about Severus, which was expected, considering he was blamed for Dumbledore's disappearance and everyone wanted to know where he was.

She sighed and decided to go, still wondering whether she would tell the whole truth or lie, which would be horrible for her, yet she still remembered how she used to lie to everyone to protect Severus under the effects of the love potion.

She simply picked up her wand, put on a coat, and went downstairs to use the fireplace.

"Lily? You finally came out of your room! Have some breakfast, my dear," her mother said as the doorbell rang. Her father got up, looked at Lily with a smile, and went to answer it.

"Sorry, Mum, I have to go," she said, heading to the fireplace while her sister looked at her with the usual disgust.

"Lily, wait!" her father called out before she could toss in the Floo powder to teleport, and Lily stopped.

"There's someone here to see you," he said, and Lily was about to respond that she couldn't answer any questions—just like they'd been turning away all the reporters in recent days—but then she noticed something.

Her father was under the Imperius Curse, his eyes glowing green.

Lily went pale in the next instant, while both her mother and Petunia sensed something was wrong.

Lily quickly drew her wand, stunning the two women, and her father collapsed to the floor a moment later—just as a spell flew toward Lily, disarming her.

She froze, seeing her family on the ground and five men, all dressed in black, staring at her.

"What do we have here... My nephew seems to have a certain fondness for you... so we'll use you to lure him out," the man said with a smile, as Lily's eyes widened in fear.
