[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]
Third Person POV
London.
...
...
Even before the end of the day, the Daily Prophet, along with other newspapers, exploded with the new revelation, which confused the entire wizarding world at that moment. One of the houses that had been announced as extinct — of the eight that were completely destroyed during the previous day's battle — had been restored again before a full day had passed.
Severus Snape, or rather, now Severus Prince, had been declared the official heir of the Prince family, according to goblin inheritance laws, when the bank finally issued an official statement to confirm there were no more possible heirs seeking the family name.
Which was quite contradictory for most people, and the wizarding community quickly began to seek answers, as Severus Snape himself had eliminated the last young members of the family — his own uncles — and goblin laws did not apply in such cases, where murder was committed for succession.
However, it was clarified that the uncles Severus killed had also tried to kill him. So, it was self-defense, and with that, he had the right to assume the family name and be the official heir of the main bloodline, outweighing any distant cousin or anyone else with Prince blood scattered across the world.
It was also quite confusing, since Severus should be an enemy of the wizarding world, and now his name had been stamped across newspaper pages for the past few weeks, with him reclaiming the wealth of an entire family for himself alone.
While reporters crowded the doors of Gringotts bank, Severus Snape apparated in front of the gate of a mansion located in a field, on a farm somewhere in Britain, a large and isolated house with three floors and more than two hundred rooms.
Severus Snape entered easily, as the place itself recognized his right, with the gates opening upon his presence. But it didn't take long for two house-elves to appear.
"Would you be...?" They looked confused, while Severus merely moved a piece of paper toward them, as if by telekinesis, with only his gaze. The elves opened it and saw the official document from Gringotts bank.
"From today on, everything that belongs to the Prince family is mine." He said in a calm tone.
The elves looked surprised, but they could not deny it.
"So you are the new master?" They looked at each other, startled.
"Exactly. I'd like you to inform everyone who is living here to meet me at the entrance of the house." Severus said, walking calmly past the elves. They disappeared the next moment into the house.
Severus walked through the door that opened for him and entered what seemed to be the entrance hall. A staircase rose to the upper floors, very much like the Black family home.
It didn't take long for a woman to come running out of one of the rooms, looking horrified after hearing what the house-elf had said.
"You have the nerve to come here?!" She shouted, raising her wand, trying to strike Severus.
He simply deflected the Bombarda spell before it exploded, using only his empty hand as if he were swatting away an annoying mosquito.
"Is that how you welcome the heir of the family?" Severus said before raising his hand toward her, and she felt her wand slip from her fingers without any spell hitting her first, which stunned her. But her body was then levitated with a simple glance, falling before him from the second floor.
"You've already killed all your uncles. Do you still want to take everything from the family? It's unforgivable!"
"And how would the family move forward through your children with a man without Prince blood? Do you think you have any right here without passing the bloodline forward?" Severus mocked, while she had no response. Obviously, she didn't want to let go of the family.
At the same time, another woman came out of one of the rooms, looking at the newcomer, but without attacking like the first. This one was afraid.
Severus observed her calmly, waiting.
The third remaining Prince member appeared: Severus's grandfather's brother, who arrived shortly after, seeming to quicken his steps to be there.
"Well... it's good that you're all here. In any case, it's nice to meet you," Severus began in a casual tone, looking at the two women.
"Both of you bear the Prince name and were the wives of my two uncles, but you failed to provide any heirs after so many years." Severus continued calmly, while they waited for him to go on, already disliking the direction the conversation was heading.
"In any case, you are stripped of the Prince titles and will have nothing more to do with the family from now on." His announcement startled the two women.
"You can't do this!" one of them shouted immediately upon hearing it.
"Yes, I can. I've already arranged everything with the goblins. I'm not doing anything illegal."
"But you're a criminal! You killed your own uncles! This isn't fair!" the other woman began to cry.
Severus might have felt some pity for these two women being cast out like that, which would be a disgrace to their families when they had no influence and were even considered inappropriate for not producing any heirs. But Severus didn't care. These women likely had some part with his uncles in the downfall of his mother, so he had no hesitation in removing them from this place.
"House-elves, come here!" Severus spoke louder than usual, since he didn't know their names, ensuring they'd hear him throughout the house. As both elves appeared in front of him, Severus simply raised his hand and began removing some things from his inventory: boxes of gold, tossing them in front of the women along with suitcases.
"I want you to place them outside the gate and do not allow them to enter again. Take this gold with them. I also want you to clean out all their belongings immediately and carry them outside in these suitcases."
As soon as he said this, the elves obeyed, vanishing with the women and the gold. Even if they had the chance to complain later, the elves went to their rooms and quickly began packing everything into the suitcases.
This took a few minutes, and Severus looked at the last elderly man, wondering what he was thinking, since he had remained silent the entire time.
"Well, I can't blame you for acting that way. At least you gave them something so they'd have a chance to start over somewhere else." He spoke in a calm tone, despite the situation.
"Well, we have to clean up some problems, don't we, great-uncle? It's the first time we've met. You gave me some very valuable information, so I'm grateful either way."
"My uncles not only ruined my mother's life, but they were also hunting me out of sheer selfishness. They believed in a magical formula that by destroying me, they would break the curse they themselves had placed on their own heads." Severus explained.
"Well, in any case, I'm glad you're here, my boy. Welcome home. It's good to meet the famous son of Eileen, and you don't seem to suffer from the same curse as your uncles. I hope our blood still lives on through you." He said.
"Don't worry, I'm immune to any enchantment and curse. Besides, magic didn't turn against me when my brothers destroyed my mother's life. Anyway, I'd like you to live here too, so I can get to know you better." Severus said, opening up a little — it was time for him to start forming deeper connections in this world.
"Well, it'll be a pleasure." He said at the end, and the two elves appeared the next moment, with cautious looks.
They weren't trembling in fear in front of Severus because he had undergone a bit of training with Vujin on how to control his magical ability. After 14 hours of practice, he had succeeded: the aura was no longer leaking from his body, and he no longer wore that ring.
"Well, I heard what happened in the newspapers. If you'd like to tell me a bit of your story, I'd be glad. I want to know how Ellen's son became so powerful." The man said in the end.
"Of course. Why don't we have some tea? You two can prepare it." Severus turned to the house-elves as he walked with his great-uncle through the mansion, which he would now be managing.
Meanwhile, amidst the uproar, still with the announcement of the events centered on the name Prince, something immediately caught attention. Sounds of screams began to echo in the distance, and people were running out from fireplaces as night fell over London.
"Vampires! Vampires are in front of the Ministry!" they were screaming.
"We're being attacked by vampires!"
It was only at nightfall that, suddenly, a rain of vampires began to appear, catching everyone by surprise. A whole group emerged, led by none other than Dracula himself, which terrified everyone present, seeing more than two hundred vampires arriving.
"Where is the Minister of Magic?!" the man exclaimed, making his voice resonate throughout the place.
"What are you doing here?" Some Aurors approached with wands in hand, watching cautiously.
"You don't know?" Dracula raised an eyebrow. "You tried to set a trap for my daughter. My dear daughter, my baby. And now I'm here for revenge. Where is that minister? You'd better bring him here. Otherwise, there will be blood!"
He was declaring war on England.
"You can't be serious!" an Auror shouted.
"How am I not being serious? Besides... did you see what happened here? Seems my son-in-law knows how to draw attention." The man laughed in anger.
"Dad! Don't embarrass me like that! We're not officially anything..." Rosária muttered from behind, embarrassed, holding a cloth to her nose with one hand and her wand in the other.
That seemed to unsettle the Aurors a bit, who knew very well about the connection, after Severus had saved Rosária.
At the same time, people began to stop. But Aurors were appearing to protect the Ministry, as an old man, along with a group, appeared: none other than Dumbledore.
"Dracula, it's been a long time," Dumbledore said in a calm tone, while the surrounding people turned their eyes in fright. The powerful wizard had returned, after all.
"Dumbledore, you're here... Well, I hope you had nothing to do with the attempt to capture my daughter at your school." Dracula threatened, not caring that he was the only one to call him by name.
The Order of the Phoenix was also just behind, looking somewhat cautiously at the entire group of vampires.
"No, I would not approve of such conduct. But we don't need to act this way. I know that Mr. Snape... I mean, now Mr. Prince... rescued her before she could be harmed." He spoke in a surprisingly calm tone.
"And how do you suggest we solve this? I want the head of that minister. If you hand him over, I'll do nothing." Dracula replied coldly.
"We can take another path, Dracula." Dumbledore insisted. "I'm sure you know Severus. He wouldn't want a crowd of people to die, people who had nothing to do with this, by the hands of vampires. Am I right?" He said, as a glint appeared in the eye of the oldest vampire in the world.
He certainly knew that Severus wouldn't allow an official massacre to happen against people who were just doing their jobs. These weren't Death Eaters, or dark wizards who killed and committed crimes. Severus would definitely intervene, and that wouldn't be good for the vampires.
And Dracula knew very well he couldn't deal with his son-in-law at that moment — not after what he had felt, even from Romania: the energy Severus released, coming from England, surpassed any expectations he had of the boy.
"Even so, I want a formal apology. Otherwise, there will be war." The vampire still threatened, though Dumbledore felt somewhat relieved that a fight which would lead to the deaths of dozens of people wouldn't be necessary.
