[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]
Third Person POV
Prince Manor.
...
...
Severus finished his meeting with that goblin manager and asked to use the fireplace inside Gringotts. While using the portkey, he went straight to the Prince mansion.
As soon as his vision filled with green flames, he found all the house-elves waiting for him as soon as they sensed his presence.
"Master Severus!" the chorus arose, as they all looked worried, already knowing what might be happening.
"Take me to them." He said, while heading toward the training area Kargalgan had created along with Severus.
There, Pandora and Clarice were in a corner, while they could see flashes of lightning, blue and red energies, as Rosaria and Bellatrix were fighting each other.
"Sev, you're here!" Pandora opened a radiant smile at Severus entering the place, while Clarice smiled as well.
"I see they're overdoing it again..." Severus murmured, analyzing the fight while they dodged more attacks than they blocked.
"They're very good at apparition." Severus said. The Ministry wouldn't have a problem with it since both were of age and the Prince mansion was authorized to use magic without alerting the Ministry in any way.
But he had to admire how they had mastered teleportation magic, since it was something Severus had trained very well with them in this style of combat, as they were even throwing death energy at each other. Which he thought was far too excessive.
"I better stop this." Severus murmured, disappearing and reappearing at the side, just as Rosaria was preparing to defend herself from a new curse Bellatrix had sent. She barely had time to react, as her hand was grabbed by Severus, disappearing the next moment.
Which caught Bellatrix by surprise, finding herself at the same instant being grabbed the next second.
They reappeared in front of the other two girls, while the arena roared with echoes of the spells that had been cast.
"Stop this!" Severus said in a serious tone.
The two looked a little shocked and seemed to ease their tension upon seeing him.
"I know you seem excited to fight, but not today." He said, releasing the arms of both, while they looked at each other for a moment and put away their wands.
"Now let's go sit down." They left the arena and went to the garden to have tea again. After all, there were more terms about the multiple alliances that should be discussed in a calm conversation.
"Now can you tell me the reason why you started a fight using the death spell?" Severus asked, as he approached the table in the garden with the house-elves filling it with drinks and food.
"Dobby ended up saying that Miss Bellatrix can turn into a cute fox." Pandora said with an innocent smile.
"Yes!" Rosaria began to laugh. While Bellatrix growled at the two, being the latter, even angrier because the half-vampire was laughing at her.
"Rosaria started provoking her." Clarice was the one who spoke, in a calm tone, while Severus just sighed.
"Well, I can't say it's not surprising that Bellatrix has a fox animagus... but I think it's really cute." Severus said, while squeezing Bellatrix's shoulder, who looked at him not knowing whether to growl at Severus or let the blush show on her face.
"You!" he accused.
In the end, they all sat down except for Bellatrix, who had disappeared when a little fox landed on Severus, now seated.
"How cute!" Pandora laughed, while Severus didn't mind petting the fox on his lap, as she snuggled in and curled up at his touch, and he found it quite pleasant.
The fox didn't miss the chance to lift her head and stick out her little tongue at Rosaria, who watched and cursed Bellatrix under her breath, a bit jealous.
Severus ended up spending the day with them once again, and then a few more days passed until the weekend, during which he trained with Rosaria and organized his business affairs, while ignoring all the Ministry's attempts to get in contact with him.
When the weekend arrived, he had his meeting with the Evans family, and Rosaria ended up going to Romania, where her father already was. She hoped to talk about a few things before returning to the mansion again, as she intended to stay.
Severus also needed some time alone. Things would certainly get hectic for him, but for now, he didn't need to worry about many things, like going back to Hogwarts. Perhaps, for bureaucratic reasons, he could request to take the seventh-year exam, after having achieved all Outstanding grades in his O.W.L.s, breaking all school records last year.
On that day, he dressed in Muggle clothes, preparing to visit the Evans family, as he had confirmed a few days earlier by letter.
Severus had already sent a shadow to Spinning Street. He asked it to go early in the day and wait until he performed the shadow switch, which happened at that moment, since Apparating could attract attention right now and the last thing he wanted was to fill the Evans' house with Aurors.
Once he was ready, he disappeared.
The scene changed. He was in front of Lily's house, glancing at Spinning Street and thinking about his wretched father's house. But he didn't care much anymore and walked up to the door, ringing the bell. Moments later, he heard hurried footsteps approaching until they stopped on the other side of the door. The person seemed to hesitate for a moment, but then the doorknob turned and the door finally opened with the red-haired girl staring at him with eyes wider than usual.
Lily froze when she saw him, seeming unsure how to react, while Severus greeted her with a nod.
"Hello, Miss Evans," he said formally.
"Hello, Seve... Mr. Prince," she corrected herself before realizing she was blocking the door and quickly stepped back.
"Please, come in. My parents would like to see you," she murmured, a bit embarrassed.
Severus nodded and entered the house, while he saw the man from his memories—Lily's father—approaching, looking surprised with his mouth slightly open.
Seeing anything with his eyes—anything but a Severus Snape standing before him.
After all, he had never truly witnessed Severus's transformation, aside from what Lily had described, and even seeing it in the newspaper, seeing him in person was staggering.
"My God, boy, is that you?" The man couldn't believe it. The former Severus—with long, greasy hair, crooked nose, short stature, skinny frame, and a worn-out look—had changed more than a year and a half ago.
Thanks to the bodily transformation the system had granted him, Severus now stood at 6'1", his hair cut in a different style, much neater and no longer greasy, and even his face had changed. His nose was no longer crooked.
The old Severus had been extremely unattractive and worn down. What stood before them now surpassed even movie heartthrobs. Even Mr. Evans had to admit the boy looked very handsome.
"My God, are you Severus?!" a surprised shout came from the kitchen entrance, as Mrs. Evans, holding a pan with eggs, stared at Severus like she was seeing an alien.
"Yeah, Dad, Mom... I told you Severus had changed," Lily murmured, stealing glances, not knowing what to say.
Lily was nervous about all of it. She had many thoughts about this Severus. She remembered very clearly how horribly he had treated her—much worse than ever before. Even by the lake, he had never insulted her in such a hostile way, ignoring her repeatedly like she was a plague.
He had softened his treatment of her a bit thanks to her persistence, but she knew it had been because of the Love Potion.
At the same time, Severus had also helped her break free from that potion, helping her manage and distance herself from those manipulated feelings, and he had saved her and her family. It was all so contradictory, and Lily felt lost.
"What is that freak doing here?!" suddenly a shriek came from the stairs, as Petunia appeared, snarling at Severus. Her eyes found him, and even she couldn't help feeling a little afraid. She had to admit he was much more handsome now—enough to make her blush a little—but she stayed cautious, remembering how terrifying he had seemed the last time they met, when he was with Venom and had looked at them like he was about to kill them.
He looked calm now, immune to her venom-filled words, while she seethed with anger. Anger at the situation she and her family had been thrown into—tortured.
"Petunia, you can't talk to Severus like that! Don't forget that he helped us." Lily tried to argue, attempting to inject some sense into her sister.
Meanwhile, their parents were still frozen in shock at Severus's radical transformation, not even really paying attention to their daughters or the conversation.
"It's because of him we were all tortured! He's to blame! You said it yourself!" Petunia shot back, turning her glare toward Severus.
"I didn't say he was to blame. I said there were men after him!" Lily corrected firmly.
"And because of that, they came to hunt us! We were tortured, you freak! Me, Dad, Mom, all of us were hurt by those… those freaks like you! All because of that biggest freak right there!" She pointed at Severus in rage.
"Look at him! He used to be a disgusting thing. Now, just because he seems to have used some magic or whatever disgusting stuff you wizards do to change your appearance, he thinks that's going to hide his nature. See?! Freak!" she screamed, overtaken by fury.
"Petunia, go back to your room!" Mr. Evans ordered sharply. At that moment, Petunia's heated rant seemed to finally snap Lily's parents out of their trance, as they watched the heavy steps of their eldest daughter stomping back up the stairs to her room, grumbling.
Their eyes soon turned to Severus with apologetic glints, while he shook his head.
"If you want to apologize for your daughter, you don't need to... She's right. I put you in danger. I feel guilty about that." Severus said in a serious, firm tone. He had to take responsibility. Besides, he wasn't the least bit bothered by Petunia insulting him—though his shadows were saying otherwise, and it took some effort on Severus's part to keep them from going after the girl.
"Well, that may be true... but it doesn't change the fact that you helped us." Mr. Evans also looked at Severus with a curious gaze.
It seemed not just his appearance had changed. Severus now had a calm, confident tone. It was like they were talking to a completely different person. And Lily would've agreed, had she been aware of that thought.
"Well, in any case, don't just stand there at the door. I'm finishing lunch. I'm sure Lily and Victor can keep you entertained." Mrs. Evans said, while Severus felt more at ease, closing the door behind him.
"Do you drink beer?" Mr. Evans asked.
"Dad! Are you offering him beer?! He's underage!" Lily protested, before glancing once more at Severus and falling silent for a moment, her mind returning to memories of who he was.
"Well, even though I'm technically underage... I'm the head of a great family now, so I have some privileges." Severus said calmly.
"We saw that in the paper. You're Lord Prince now, right?" Mr. Evans asked casually, before turning to grab something to drink. He came back soon after, while Lily hadn't said a word, standing in the living room with Severus in a slightly awkward silence.
Severus accepted the beer, though from experience, he already knew why he truly wanted to drink. When he opened the can and took a sip, the system spoke up right after, saying it was detoxifying his body, making it impossible for him to get drunk.
Mr. Evans invited him to check out his vinyl records—something old-fashioned—, and Severus enjoyed listening to some music, especially since Lily's parents liked 70s rock.
Mr. Evans showed off some album covers of his favorite bands that he had recently acquired for himself, while Severus gave a friendlier smile and began chatting with him, reminiscing about his moments in that house.
That surprised the man, who still looked at Severus strangely, wondering where that shy and reclusive boy had gone.
Even Lily was quite surprised as she listened to Severus talking with her father, even giving details about the bands they were listening to. Showing that he was quite up to date with the Muggle world—much more than she had imagined.
"You have time to know about these things, after everything that happened?" she asked, curious. But it was so quiet that Severus didn't even respond, knowing she hadn't really meant to say it to him—it was more like a thought spoken aloud.
