Chapter 237 - Chapter 236 - A Small Talk with Aurors.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Privet Drive.

...

...

Severus continued walking down Privet Drive, ignoring the gazes fixed upon him—not those of the people in houses and yards, but rather the ones watching him from the rooftops.

He had secretly placed a shield around the entire Evans house to prevent anyone from overhearing their conversations.

And there were at least fifteen of them scattered around the area, accumulating since he'd arrived at the Evans', but he ignored them as he kept walking until he reached the park where he'd first met Lily as a child.

His eyes closed briefly as he looked up at the early-afternoon sky, taking a short breath.

Even if the Severus of old was still fighting for that girl within him, he had to let her go.

There was no point in holding on to her any longer.

It was frustrating to know how the boy's life had turned out before his suicide. Had Severus received proper guidance when everyone was against him, he could have had everything he ever wanted... After all, the Headmaster had always favored the Marauders, who continually got away with their constant bullying. Slytherin House had always been violent, and its own students used Unforgivables against each other in Voldemort's name against those who didn't side with him. Even at home, on Spinner's End, there had been an abusive father who had killed his mother and beaten him regularly.

That was Severus Snape…

His eyes returned to the benches and swings, perhaps seeing a little boy and girl innocently chatting, discovering the magical world together.

He shouldn't care about that anymore. After all, he wasn't Severus Snape anymore. Now, he was Severus Prince, Lord of one of the richest and most ancient houses. It might not have been counted among the Sacred Twenty-Eight, but it was richer than all of them—a lineage built by talented Potioneers, a skill Severus had naturally acquired ever since he started experimenting with potions alongside his mother.

"Are you going to stand there staring at me for long? It's a bit irritating," Severus spoke calmly.

"We would like you to come to the Ministry," a voice behind him replied cautiously, yet firmly.

"I thought I'd made myself very clear," Severus said, turning to face the man as more and more Aurors began to appear behind him.

The man was none other than the Head of Magical Law Enforcement, Bartemius Crouch Sr.

"You did, and yet you still haven't come to the Ministry," he said, wand already in hand, just like everyone behind him.

"I'm busy, as you can see," Severus mocked.

"We saw you at the house of those Muggles—the same ones who were kidnapped before, to lure you out," he said.

"What's the issue with me having Muggle friends? I'm not Voldemort, wanting their extermination," Severus replied calmly, while the man remained firm, his face impassive.

"You know the families will want their revenge against you... You killed many important people... and all of those families still have considerable power and influence..." Bartemius stated.

"Don't worry about that, they're safe..." Severus said—he had placed some shadows to protect them.

A silence fell over the area as they kept trying to study Severus the entire time, so he had to end it and broke the silence.

"If you're going to summon me to the Ministry, the answer is no. I won't go right now," Severus said.

"Just because you defeated the Dark Lord doesn't mean you're above the law. If you're becoming a new Dark Lord, know that the Ministry will stop you," Bartemius said, maintaining a firm gaze.

"Oh yes, I want to take over the world, as you can imagine...," Severus replied sarcastically, while the men behind Barty seemed cautious, glancing at one another.

Severus couldn't help but wonder whether they were actually believing his clearly sarcastic words or not, given their reactions.

"Either way, now is not the time for me to go to the Ministry. I need to deal with some matters concerning Voldemort. After all, that's a problem that still needs to be handled."

"He's in Azkaban, securely imprisoned, I assure you," the man said.

"He's still a problem... It'll be a huge issue if someone kills him after I made sure he wouldn't kill himself... After all, there's something quite troublesome regarding his soul, and that made him immortal," Severus spoke calmly, while the agents made a few grimaces. Dumbledore might curse him the moment he started spreading information about Horcruxes, but Severus didn't care.

"I intend to start looking for the fragments of his soul. And once I destroy them, I'll attend the hearing you all want so badly," Severus said, pausing briefly before continuing. "I'm not your enemy. I'm not here to take over the world, but there are some deeply troubling things I must deal with in the future."

"And what would that be?" Bartemius asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Beings beyond this world. Beings from outside this world intend to come here," Severus said simply.

"What do you mean by—" Bartemius didn't even get to finish the sentence before Severus simply vanished, replaced by a shadow in the next moment, as he used shadow-swapping to return to Prince Manor. The Aurors were left stunned as the shadow simply dissolved into the ground.

At Prince Manor, Severus found his great-uncle in the family library.

"Ah, Severus, you're here!" he said with some cheer.

"What are you doing, uncle?" he asked.

"I'm organizing a few categories of books from the Prince family. I'm sure you'll find them quite interesting," he said, while Severus couldn't help but look on with curiosity, since he had never entered the library since arriving—and this was the family's largest collection, accumulated over generations.

"Interesting..." Severus said as he began examining a few tomes.

The Prince family was already specialized in potions, so he certainly wouldn't be wasting his time here. Severus stepped forward to the shelves and pulled out a few books, reading for a while—after all, he didn't feel like doing anything else that day.

He spent the rest of the day like that, only interrupted once by Dobby, who brought him a letter delivered by an owl from the Black family, with Bellatrix asking if he wanted to have dinner together that evening.

Seeing no problem with it, Severus nodded, writing a response right then and handing it to Dobby to deliver to the Black family.

He had finished that book and picked up the next one, about darker potions, reading through it and wanting to gather the formulas while thinking about the many items he had highlighted from other dimensions in the portals he had entered—even monster corpses stored with him. He had to find a way to use them and discover their effects.

Severus's thoughts weren't aimed at creating potions to harm people. He still had a bit of that elixir he'd obtained in the demonic castle. He would study that formula, perhaps replicating a weaker version. It didn't have to be something that healed everything, but it could be specialized in curing cancer and curses—both magical and non-magical. That would be interesting.

So he began flipping through the book quickly, using some focus spells to increase his reading speed while effortlessly memorizing everything thanks to his extremely high intelligence. He had gained some intellectual benefits with those numbers. Even though his intelligence was more attuned to magic than academics, it still had its advantages.

After reading and memorizing the book in an hour, he closed it and used shadow teleportation to disappear from the library. Severus went to the bathroom.

"Dobby." He called, and the elf appeared.

"Yes, Master Snape!" he said cheerfully.

"Prepare an outfit from my wardrobe for me to go out tonight. I'm having dinner with a lady," he announced, and the elf vanished.

He stepped into his bathtub and refreshed himself a bit. When he got out, the clothes were already prepared for him.

He waited until eight o'clock and then went to the fireplace, which burst into flames, taking him straight to the Black Manor, where he appeared in the entrance hall.

The first person he encountered was Regulus, who looked surprised as the flames erupted from the fireplace just as he was passing by the kitchen.

"Severus," he murmured, while Lord Prince smiled at him.

"How are you?" Severus asked.

"I'm fine. Classes will start soon. You're not going back to Hogwarts, are you?" Regulus asked.

"No, I'm not. Anyway, I'm here to see your cousin. I'll wait for her," he said, as Kreacher appeared at that moment, looking grumpy, but upon seeing Severus, he immediately became submissive.

"Lord Prince," he said.

"Hello, Kreacher," Severus said clearly.

"Kreacher, would you mind calling Bella? Tell her Severus is here," Regulus said.

"I'll knock on her door right away. I'll let her know," he said, disappearing.

The next moment, footsteps began to come from upstairs, and Bellatrix appeared wearing a black dress. She almost smiled at him before scoffing. That didn't stop Severus from smiling at her.

"Proud as ever, aren't you?" he teased, still keeping his smile.

"I think I'll leave you two alone. Goodbye," Regulus said before turning and walking away, while Bellatrix descended the stairs.

"It's good that you arrived early," she said, still huffing a little.

"You look beautiful," he complimented.

"You don't look bad yourself," she murmured, blushing slightly.

"Are you saying I look handsome, elegant, and charming?" He leaned closer to her face with a teasing smile while she stared at him, uncertain whether to insult him or kiss him. But to her disappointment, Severus pulled away.

"Let's go somewhere else now. We have the whole night to flirt," he said as he took her arm and headed back toward the fireplace.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"Well, my name and face are quite known in England. How about we go to another country?" he said.

"Which one are you thinking of?" Bellatrix asked.

"Just follow me," he replied, and she shrugged. In the end, she liked the curiosity.

The Prince family had Floo keys to many places around the world. Severus took advantage of that and grabbed all of them to keep with him, since they were at the manor. Later, they'd also have to visit the vaults to retrieve a few other secrets of the Prince family.

In any case, the flames burst, and Severus and Bellatrix had vanished, reappearing in a small shop somewhere in the world a moment later.

There was a man selling some old devices that no one really visited, reading the newspaper when the flames exploded and he saw a couple appear. That was normal, as his shop served as one of the fireplaces in New York, usually used by wizarding couples. These two were no different.

"One gold Dragot," the man simply said, not wanting to talk much, while Severus casually placed the coin on the counter for using the fireplace. With that, they stepped out of the shop, which was near Times Square.

"A British coin... whatever," he just muttered, glancing at the Galleon.

"His accent is American and he asked for a Dragot... What part of the United States are we in?" Bellatrix asked, immediately recognizing it.

"New York. Now come, I have a dinner reservation for us tonight," he said, as the couple walked through the streets and arrived at Times Square, with Severus using a concealment charm so they wouldn't be noticed as they moved through New York's streets that night.
