The closer they got to the mountain peak, the more biting the chill in the air became. The ground was no longer the previous desert, but had turned into hard black rock, covered with gouges of varying depths. Upon closer inspection, these were some twisted, peculiar, and almost unrecognizable symbols. The symbols seemed to be alive, with tendrils of black gas emanating from them, merging into the thick fog surrounding the mountain peak.
