Personally I very much believe so... And they are a great chunk of people who agree with it
I can understand why you think Lotm is better than RI
If we have been objective are they are both entirely different novels, with the different method of storytelling and different approach
Anybody that loves Thematic and Character Exploration and philosophical depth they would definitely pick RI as the superior novel
Same goes for the other side: if you like a well-structured plot driven narrative that ties all loose end for perfect end to end narrative then Lotm would be superior for you
It is not really hard to understand
Any comparison between Lotm and RI says more about the person scaling rather than the works themselves
RI cannot do what LOTM does because then they won't be any room for exploration for which it is known for
