THIS IS A CHAPTER 0. YOU CAN SKIP THIS CHAPTER. I WILL EXPLAIN SOME GROUND RULES FOR THE FIC AND A LITTLE BIT OF THE TIMELINE, SO IF YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED OR WANT TO GO TO THE FIC, GO AHEAD.
I love Destiny and its universe, but I admit many aspects are not very consistent with one another, especially when it comes to differences between in-game mechanics and how it actually works inside the universe.
So I want to settle how some of the most important things will work in this fic so there's no confusion, or at least not too much.
This isn't me trying to dictate how destiny works, this is just rules made mostly for me so I can keep thing consistent and make the best possible story I can for you guys :) P.D i may add more in the future, dont really know. :3
-Guardians don't need to sleep, but they do need to eat to survive. The light can sustain them for a while without food, but not forever. And even though they don't truly need sleep, it helps them relax and rest.
-Guardians can heal small and mild wounds by channeling their light through their bodies; the effectiveness of the healing, however, is dependent on their mastery over light. For anything too severe, aka lost body parts, multiple gunshot wounds, deep cuts/lacerations, broken bones... they need their ghost to actually come out and heal them. Warlocks can ignore this rule via healing rifts/wells.
-Ghosts are extremely difficult to destroy without using any paracausal means. So while a stray bullet may hurt, it won't kill a ghost.
-The Awoken civilization is a few thousand years old, not billions of years old. Mara Sov is the exception. If you want to see the reasoning behind this, there's an excellent Reddit post talking about this.

About the timeline. I follow the one on the Ishtar Collective page. I won't stick to it religiously, there will be differences from canon most probably.
Measured in years, for clarity, the Dark Age lasts about 500 years in this fic, and the city lasts about 300 years, with the beginning of cannon marking its end.
I'm not exactly a lore expert, so I may make mistakes or continuity errors, and none of this is set in stone. I would love to hear your opinions anytime about any piece of lore I may have mixed up or something.
