Chapter 45 - CH. 45 - A Party! And a Warning

After the lesson, the entire class walks together happily, laughing and joking together under the night sky.

"I guess that lesson was more interesting than a normal lecture." Alston says, putting her arms behind her head.

"Speaking of lessons, you have got to show me some of your moves, Moshiro. You trained under Director Teach for like your whole life, right?" Harley asks Moshiro. She looks surprised for a moment before smiling softly and nodding.

"Maybe we should all train together some time. Could be beneficial for us all."

Killian says and as he does, he looks over to Ivailia and points both his index fingers out before tapping his fists together a couple time. Ivailia looks at him before her face lights up and she happily nods.

"Yeah but keep me away from stinky over here." Phoenix says, bumping into Galen.

"You know what? I don't like you." Galen responds playfully.

"Aw, I like you too." Phoenix teases back as they both laugh. Yoko floats next to them with a big smile.

"Yeah! Dante and I could work on our combo attacks!" Yoko says happily as Dante cheers with them.

"We could 2v2 if you're down." Rye says with Law behind them. Yoko looks at them with a bashful and timid look.

"Okay but don't use your powers to make out with me again.." Yoko says playfully timid. Law sweats and looks nervous as the others look at her.

"I have never once done that to them." Law says defensively. Yoko then smirks and laughs, jumping on Law's back as Jeni shakes her head with a smile.

Wolf watches them all once again from the back of the group with her big purple eyes. She walks in silence as they all laugh and joke together, having spent a couple months working together. Wolf then decides to speak up, despite not knowing what to say.

"It seems like you're all getting along well." Wolf says a bit louder than she should. They look back at her and a couple of them smile, a bit awkwardly.

"Uh.. yeah I guess so." Law says, kind of bothered by her words.

"We have been training together for a while now. I guess it's only natural when you all share the same goals, haha!" Jeni says with a laugh. The others agree as Wolf looks down ever so slightly.

"Right…"

"Oh, I heard they're having this party thing, I don't know, some kind of get together in the West Hall. We should totally check it out." Octavia says to the group.

"That would be so fun!" Angie says happily.

"Count me in!" Saika cheers as they all get excited and walk off together. As they do, Wolf's pace begins to slow down as she looks at the ground, being left behind. Killian notices and stops for her.

"Come on. You're coming too, right?" Killian asks. Wolf looks up with a surprised look as the others look back.

"You're invited too, duh." Octavia says with a cool smile.

"If we have to…" Law says under her breath as Jeni bumps her a bit. "What?.. She's just weird…" Law says quietly. Yoko hears her words and looks back at Wolf with their big pink eyes.

"She's… weird?.." Yoko says to themself. Wolf then steps forward with the group as they all head off together.

In the West Hall, many students are gathered with a few staff around. They dance and socialize, enjoying the company when one upperclassman approaches them, the same one who was watching Wolf with the Reps.

"Hey! Welcome new kids! I'm Ronin, a third year. This is just a normal thing we do every now and then so don't worry, you're totally welcome here." This boy, Ronin, says with a slight bow. Phoenix looks at him and blushes.

"wow…" She says softly, admiring his looks. He notices and smirks before standing up with a smile.

"Please, get some sodas or punch, eat some snacks and just enjoy yourselves. Everyone's gotta relax sometime, why not now?" He says before stepping out of their way.

The class smiles excitedly as they all disperse amongst the crowd. They meet other students, and other staff members. They eat snacks and drink sweet drinks. Octavia starts dancing against Dante as Yoko flips in the air, flying around the room freely. Phoenix and Killian dance together, spinning each other around as they laugh and laugh.

Wolf watches as her friends and classmates all enjoy themselves but finds herself out of place. She entered the room like everyone else, she was just as welcomed yet she stands there unsure of what to do next. So she finds herself a nice seat on the sidelines by one of the few tables set up.

As she stares at the people around her, her eyes aren't filled with sadness or loneliness. Her eyes express more of a confusion with slight tones of jealousy. Despite everyone else just feeling the night, Wolf can't help but keep thinking, examining everything going on around her until Moshiro takes a seat next to her at the table.

Moshiro puts down a small plate with a few snacks on it as she bites into one of the cookies they had. She too looks around the room as she chews on the cookie.

"Must be hard." Moshiro says. Wolf looks at her surprised as Moshiro looks softly as Wolf. "I know you're struggling to figure out how to fit in. Must be hard when your brain works the way it does for you."

Moshiro says before looking back at the crowd. Wolf also looks back at the crowd before lowering her head a bit, frustration finally setting in.

"I don't even really care. I don't need their approval, I don't even want it. It's more…" Wolf begins to say as she trails off. Moshiro looks at her before speaking up.

"I know, Wolf. We've been friends for a long time. And I…" Moshiro's gaze softens a bit as she looks at Yoko dancing. "I understand. I feel the same way. Before coming here, you don't realize just how-" Before Moshiro can finish, Yoko notices Moshiro staring so they rush over and take Moshiro's hands.

"Come on! We gotta dance together!" Yoko says, pulling Moshiro along, who doesn't seem all that excited. Wolf watches this and her eyes begin to dull a bit as feelings well up inside of her.

"Yeah. I know.." She whispers before getting up and walking away.

Wolf walks outside of the West Hall room and even outside of the connecting hallway out into a small garden court area, tucked away in a small nook of the academy. She steps out onto the dirt and looks up to the sky, to the moon and the stars as not a sound is heard except for the muffled sounds of laughter and music in the West Hall. She takes a deep breath in before exhaling and looking down.

"Still all the same." Wolf says softly. She then hears footsteps behind her where she sees Marcus, Henry and Keigo standing, staring at her. Her eyes sharpen as they smirk at her.

"What happened? The party not to your liking? Oh! You probably just wanted to rest up a bit. The dog house is out back somewhere else." Marcus taunts. Wolf glares at him but doesn't speak back. Her silence only frustrates Marcus even more. He takes a step forward when Henry grabs his shoulder.

"Not now. Wouldn't be right." Henry says with a smile on his face. Wolf finds this amusing and smiles mockingly at them.

"Yeah, you should probably listen to him and just behave." The moment the words leave her mouth, Wolf is backhanded across the face despite the distance between them. Blood falls from her nose and corner of her mouth as Marcus' arm slowly returns to normal from its stretched out state.

"Don't you even try to mock me. And you! Keep your hands off me, I'm not a moron." Marcus says, yanking his shoulder away from Henry who just smiles and takes a step back.

Wolf stands there, a bit stunned by the strength of the sudden attack before composing herself and staring back at them. Marcus grunts a bit before speaking.

"I know what you are. Your kind, always causing problems. The Eval Tournament, the Okar Woods, the abandoned building." Marcus says. Wolf's eyes sharpen at his words. "That's right, we know about your stupid hideout. We'd destroy it ourselves but that would be a waste of our time." Marcus says. Wolf glares at him as Henry steps forth.

"You lot aren't fit to be here. Take this as an opportunity to leave. Do that and there'll be no more problems." Henry offers. Marcus stares Wolf down.

"Or don't. Go ahead and cause more problems for your friends, I'm sure that's all you've ever done in your life anyway." Marcus says sharply before turning and walking away with the others. Wolf stands there with sharp eyes as she stares them down, walking away.

Down the hall, Marcus huffs frustratedly as the other two follow behind him.

"I was certain that was gonna be it. I know I certainly would've flipped being told all that. Talk about composure." Keigo says.

"She's not composed. She's stupid, selfish." Marcus says aggressively.

"Maybe time for a different approach. She's obviously not gonna fight back if we attack her alone. Let alone what her friends will do." Henry says. Marcus thinks for a moment before smirking.

"Yeah. Her friends." He says with an ominous tone as they walk off into the night.

Another day, classes have come and gone, the students get a little closer and learned a little more. As they are all leaving together, making their way through the halls and to the cafeteria, Harley stops for a moment.

"I'm gonna swing by the tailor. There's some modifications I wanna make to my suit." She says. Galen smiles at her.

"Want me to come with?" He asks.

"Nah, I'll be alright. I'll come find you guys afterwards, yeah?" Harley says. Galen nods and waves them off as she goes. She makes her way through the academy and to an open courtyard area that's across from her destination.

Once there, a large person steps in front of her, cutting off her path. She looks up to see Marcus standing before her. She sweats a bit but still smiles.

"Oh, hey Rep Marcus, sir. What're you doing here?" She asks, unaware of the things that have been going on. He stares at her for a moment before quickly grabbing her collar and pulling his fist back then it all goes black.

Wolf stands with shadow across her face and an intense look in her eyes. She stares down at the sight before her with a volatile combination of emotions rushing through her. Phoenix and Killian quickly rush over to the side of a bloody and beaten Harley on the ground.

"Harley! Harley, answer me!" Phoenix shouts in a panic, using her flame energy to try and heal her to surprisingly great effect. Galen, with the group behind them, notices and rushes over too. Everyone stops with shocked looks at the sight.

Wolf continues to stare at her before lifting her gaze and staring at Marcus standing across from them with a smirk and crossed arms. Wolf stares him down as the others begin to notice him. Phoenix glares at him as she speaks.

"Did you do this?!" She asks angrily.

"Technically, she did. If she didn't bother to let you know our conditions then it's her fault you're here now." Marcus says, pointing at Wolf. Phoenix looks at her as Wolf doesn't remove her gaze. Killian then stands up with an angry look.

"That's bullcrap and you know it! What's wrong with you?! Hurting innocent people?" Killian shouts angrily. The other Representatives step up behind him. Marionette looks shocked as Henry has a distraught look on his face.

"This isn't what we meant." Henry says under his breath to Marcus. He ignores him as he stares down the others.

"Innocent? From where I'm standing, you all are far from that. From here, she got what she earned." Marcus says. Galen looks up aggressively when Jeni rushes up next to them and extends her hands in a gripping motion. Suddenly, what looks like the shape of large translucent energy hands grabs onto Marcus' entire body, holding him in place.

"You bastard! We'll make you pay..!" Jeni says, struggling to hold him. Marcus stares for a moment, almost intrigued, before flexing his body hard and thrusting his arms up, breaking the telekinetic hold Jeni had. She falls back as Alston and Angie catch her. She growls for a moment before rushing up again but they stop her.

"Jeni, we can't." Angie says. Jeni looks at her shocked and confused.

"Why not?? Look what they did to our friend!" Jeni shouts.

"I know but we have to go through the proper channels. If we just start fighting, we'll only make it worse. And who do you think they'll believe." Angie says as Jeni calms down just a bit.

"It is the responsibility of the Representatives to maintain peace and safety among the student body. That includes eliminating threats to its structure." Ashi says coldly.

"From the moment you entered the academy, chaos and destruction has followed. We are simply executing our duties." Samuel says too.

"Are you insane? Look at this! How is this any better?" Killian asks passionately as Phoenix helps Harley to her feet and walks back with the others. Galen helps her as well.

"You don't get it. We have an image to uphold and you're only weighing it down. Besides, who's gonna be upset some nobodies dropped out of school?" Marcus says with a smirk.
