Chapter 11 - 011 B-Level competition sees a new final blow?_1

"Who made this card?"

Chen Runyu stared intently at the B-Rank Bunny Demon Dual-Change Card. Although it's just B-Level, the card-making talent is so high. I wonder if they've joined an association. If it's an individual... Unlikely. The major card associations had been scouting newcomers for a long time. Had such a talented newcomer emerged, even at B-Level, they would have been recruited by now.

"It was a reply from a Spirit Card Master to a post I made online," Chen Xiaotu said, also looking excitedly at her new card, almost drooling. Humanoid Cards are rare to begin with, and this one's such a beautiful girl. Oh my God, think of how many people at school will be jealous. This card could make me the brightest star in the crowd!

Chen Runyu looked at Chen Xiaotu. "What post?"

Chen Xiaotu pulled up the post and showed it to him. "Quick, quick, transfer the card to me! You can read the post yourself."

A B-Rank card wasn't very useful for his training, so after transferring it to his sister, Chen Runyu took the device with the post to one side and carefully reviewed the entire exchange.

The post was mildly popular, bumped to nearly 1,000 comments. Many expressed a desire to watch the livestream of someone making good on a foolish bet. Of course, most people still believed the creator was facing a lonely endeavor, one where they'd find few supporters, because everyone knew the difficulty of making a B-Rank Dual-Change Card.

Chen Runyu looked at Chen Xiaotu in surprise. "An original B-Rank Dual-Change Card? I can't believe you even asked for that! Did you lose your mind after seeing Teacher Li's cards?"

Chen Xiaotu, still immersed in the joy of her new card, pouted. "Hey, it was just a random post! How was I supposed to know someone would actually dare to make it? And besides…"

She looked contentedly at the Rabbit Demon Card. "They actually made it, didn't they?"

If it weren't for her whim, how else would she have stumbled upon such good fortune?

"A B-Rank Dual-Change Card, and a Humanoid Card at that! A buyout price of one million is far too low. You're being reckless." Chen Runyu's voice carried a rare tone of sternness.

Chen Xiaotu, realizing the situation, quickly secured the card and asked worriedly, "Ah... Bro... what do you mean?"

She could afford 1.5 million at most. Her allowance was strictly managed; it had taken her many years of saving her New Year's gift money to accumulate that much. If she couldn't afford it, did her brother mean they should send it back? Returning the Rabbit Demon Card now would be like tearing her heart out!

"I'll talk to them first." The card was made, and it was flawless. Naturally, they had to pay. They had signed a contract; they couldn't renege. Chen Runyu could certainly afford it, but he felt that, given this Spirit Card Master's talent, it was worth making their acquaintance.

Bunny Treasure (Private Message): Hello. I've checked the card on my end; there are no problems. It fully meets the requirements, and I'm very satisfied. This B-Rank Dual-Change Card is surprisingly good! Humanoid Cards are very expensive on the market, and since this is also a Dual-Change Card, I think its buyout value is closer to 5 million. Are you sure you want to sell it outright? You might not be fully aware of this Dual-Change Card's value. Keeping it would be like owning a money tree.

Wen Jiang, who was currently watching a card game livestream, saw Bunny Treasure's message. She scrutinized it for a moment before concluding, "Someone else must be typing now." Bunny Treasure's previous messages were lively, but this one was much more serious—clearly not from the same person.

Zero Egg said, a little curious, "This person is really strange. Are they suggesting you don't sell it outright but keep it to maximize its value? Or are they saying they can't afford it? But to mention a price of 5 million... this person seems pretty kind-hearted, huh? If it were someone unscrupulous, they would have quietly bought it for one million."

"He wants to do me a favor, or perhaps even get in touch with me." Wen Jiang wasn't completely clueless about cards; she had searched the entire internet and realized the value of Humanoid Cards. The Rabbit Demon Card she'd made was naturally no ordinary item.

Thinking of this, she curled her lips into a smile and said, "But I'm in a good mood. He's very lucky."

Zero Egg: ...Such big talk!

Wen Cangtian (Private Chat): Not necessary.

Wen Cangtian (Private Chat): I have more than just this one card.

Chen Runyu shuddered. His scalp tingled, and he replied in almost disbelief.

Bunny Treasure (Private Chat): Do you mean you have more than one of these Dual-Change Cards?

Wen Cangtian (Private Chat): Yes, I've made a whole card set.

In both competition and everyday life, Spirit Card Masters mostly summoned only one card for battle at a time. However, they could use other cards before their spiritual power was exhausted. Individual cards typically have singular abilities. However, using multiple cards with different, cooperative abilities can produce a synergistic effect—one where the whole is greater than the sum of its individual parts. Such combinations are known as a card set. Cooperating with each other, with some cards handling combat and others providing auxiliary support or control, a much more powerful effect could be achieved.

The Rabbit Demon Card was a pure combat card. Wen Jiang had already decided what kind of card to make next.

A card set? Chen Runyu's pupils constricted. Since when did making cards become this easy? One Dual-Change Card wasn't enough for them; they had to make an entire card set? No, wait. It's possible the other cards aren't as outstanding as this Dual-Change Card.

Seeing that the other party was willing to share more, Chen Runyu pressed on.

Bunny Treasure (Private Chat): Are they to complement the Rabbit Demon Card? The others aren't Dual-Change Cards, right?

Wen Cangtian (Private Chat): No, they're all Dual-Change Cards. Some are for support, some for control, all to complement the Rabbit Demon.

"Damn it!" Chen Runyu actually cursed.

Chen Xiaotu looked at her brother, bewildered, unable to believe it. "You cursed?" Chen Runyu was known as an outstanding student representative. Though outgoing, he always carried himself with a refined, gentlemanly air. This was the very first time Chen Xiaotu had ever heard her exceptional brother swear!

Chen Runyu ignored Chen Xiaotu's astonishment; his mind was reeling. A single Dual-Change Card would be one thing, but an entire card set? If the other cards were even somewhat effective and could synergize with the Rabbit Demon, wouldn't they completely sweep B-Level competitions?

Their large Card Association traditionally focused on competitions for A-Level Spirit Card Masters and above. However, achieving a dominating advantage at the B-Level would still be a massive boon for the association. Chen Runyu's heart began to pound.

Bunny Treasure (Private Chat): Um, forgive my presumption, but this card set of yours... have you sold it? Or rather, would you be interested in collaborating with the Mount Flower Association?

Currently, while many new B-Rank Cards had appeared on the market, not many were distinctive, and even fewer were truly competition-worthy. The cards used in competitions were typically the result of countless experiments and training by Spirit Card Masters. While it wasn't unheard of for someone to rise unexpectedly by using underrated cards to forge new strategies, B-Rank card competitions, on the whole, have been rather stable in recent years. Much like the higher-level competitions, it had been a long time since any truly novel card sets had emerged to shake things up.

If the user behind the ID 'Wen Cangtian' truly possessed such a unique card set, Chen Runyu believed it could deliver a decisive blow to the B-Level competition scene in the short term. From his perspective, at least, the Rabbit Demon Card was already exceptionally well-suited for competition. Not to mention, its unique trait as a Dual-Change Card hadn't even been revealed. During a match, no one would initially know what kind of Dual-Change Card it truly was.
