The self-important Gong Ting followed Wei Anning out of the city hall building. He quickly caught up and blocked her way, "Ning'er, we need to talk."
Wei Anning looked up at him. In truth, the person she owed the most in this life was Gong Ting.
A childhood promise had bound him for half his life. His infatuation for her remained, yet her heart could accommodate only that one person.
"Gong Ting, if it weren't for your companionship and protection these past five years, I wouldn't know how many times I might have died. I know what you want to talk about. I will handle the matters between Leng Youchen and me myself."
In Gong Ting's azure eyes, a glimmer trembled, a faint hint of sadness appearing, "Ning'er, I know you haven't let go of him for a moment in these five years. I won't talk about him, nor about us. I just arrived in Birmingham, will you accompany me for a meal?"
Wei Anning looked at his handsome face, unable to refuse. She nodded, "Alright."
