The Queen nodded thoughtfully, "Anning, rest assured, as long as you do not consent, I will not force you. The United Kingdom is stronger than Country S; we don't have to bow to anyone."
"Yes, Your Majesty," Wei Anning replied.
The Queen chatted with her for a while longer before letting her leave.
Leaving the main hall, Wei Anning felt a layer of cold sweat on her back. She knew today William had proposed, and due to the Queen's many concerns, she had been asked to refuse the marriage.
If the suitor had been someone advantageous to the Queen, she likely wouldn't have asked for her opinion before marrying her off.
This is power politics.
The more she thought, the more alarmed she became. She hastily walked out of the Royal Palace and saw William leaning against the city wall, as if waiting for her.
She furrowed her brow and instinctively turned to go in another direction, really not wanting to have any association with this scoundrel.
