Li Jun's new store opening had him ask Huo Sining for help in picking out a piece from his batch of goods.
Huo Sining had already seen them when they were still in the hands of the South Sea Country F patrol, so choosing a piece that could bring gains was a rather simple task for her.
That morning, Huo Sining accompanied Li Jun in the ribbon-cutting at the new store. Many people gathered outside to watch the festivities — both Chinese and some Americans interested in jadeite, along with quite a few curious but clueless onlookers.
Afraid of putting on too much of a show, Huo Sining didn't dare pick the best one — she chose a piece that could reveal the glutinous rice variety instead. Without any help from the Stone Solver Master, she personally took up the task, making a few bold cuts. Then, she poured clean water over the stone chips, washing away the sandy debris and revealing a sparkling, translucent, beautiful jadeite.
