Chapter 72 - let's end the combat for real

The stadium was silent, every eye fixed on the duel between Kannan and Olivia. Dransart and the Zevan siblings cheered quietly from the stands, their trust in him unwavering.

The Duel of Lovers and Rivals

Kannan and Olivia clashed, both encased in layered holy shields—holy immune outside, holy recover inside—turning their defenses into living armor.

Olivia's sword gleamed with imbued holy slashes, cutting through Kannan's arrows with ease. Forced into close combat, Kannan fought head-on, exchanging blows. Each strike healed, but the pain and fatigue weighed on him.

At one moment, Olivia nearly landed a fatal strike. Kannan's last-minute luck activated, saving him from certain defeat.

He grinned. "I've waited long enough. Now see my full strength." His sword shifted into a dagger. Olivia's eyes narrowed. "Do you dare look down on me?"

The Catastrophic Aura

Kannan's stance grew strange, his aura shifting. His holy potential glowed golden yellow, then deepened into blood-red, thicker than life itself. Finally, it twisted into black-red, darker than shadow.

The gods gasped. "Is he the descendant of the Devil God? The son of the Devil God? Or the Devil God reincarnated?"

Meanwhile…

The God Father, enraged, sent assassins to kill Kannan's family. But when he struck, the targets dissolved into shadows. Suspicion gnawed at him.

In truth, Kannan had summoned his minions—Sin of Greed and Sin of Lust. Shadow-bodied, invincible, they destroyed only illusions. The Zevan family remained safe in their old inn.

The Counterattack

Kannan imbued his dagger with catastrophic aura, striking relentlessly. Olivia struggled, forced to drink a backlash potion—gaining strength at the cost of inner damage.

Their duel became a dance, blades weaving like a couple's rhythm. But Olivia's body faltered under the potion's toll. She knew she could not defend against his next strike.

She raised her hand. "I forfeit."

The stadium froze, stunned into silence. For one minute, gods stood like statues. Some fainted into deep sleep.

The Confrontation

The God Father rose, his voice thunderous. "A fake god can never be a god. Yet you seek to become Devil God. Your aura is unnatural, a hidden existence, a frightening echo of the past."

Kannan faced him calmly. "You did not want me to become Devil God, yet you allowed me to participate. I forgive you. And I will do you a favor."

The God Father sneered. "You fear offending me. Live quietly, and I will spare you."

Kannan's voice rang out, shaking the stadium. "If that happens, you will kill me in secret. But now, the matter is this—you are going to become my father-in-law."

The crowd erupted in shock. Gods fainted, others fell into deep sleep. Olivia blushed, torn between fury and disbelief.

Thus, the Catastrophic Aura is revealed.

Kannan stands as more than a fake god—he is a force that bends destiny. The God Father, shaken, faces the impossible truth: his daughter has fallen for the one who may reshape the God System itself.
