Chapter 704 - Chapter 705: A Top Power   Blood Spirit Sect

Chapter 705: A Top Power Blood Spirit Sect

Xiao Ze studied the remnants of the ancient spirit array left in this desolate land.

"This appears to be a high level Heavenly Grade spirit array. In its complete form, it could kill a Ninth Grade Sovereign!" he muttered. "But now it's shattered, its power greatly diminished. What a shame."

Shaking his head, Xiao Ze descended to the crimson hued ground below. Though the spirit array was no longer intact, he remained cautious. The fierce battles of ancient times had left behind these ruins proof of an extraordinary conflict.

The ground was littered with broken materials, etched with ancient runes. As his soul power probed the area, Xiao Ze furrowed his brows.

"Judging from the remnants, this might've been a small command outpost during the ancient war."

His figure flickered, arriving before the ruins of what seemed like a temple. Calling it a temple felt like an overstatement; only a half height bronze pillar remained, protruding from the rubble.

Xiao Ze's gaze focused on the pillar. He sensed a strange and malevolent energy emanating from it, one that had lingered through the ages.

"As I thought, this is the power of the extraterritorial demons," he murmured.

It confirmed his suspicion: this place had indeed been an ancient command post. During the war, even Sky Sovereigns couldn't oversee everything. Command posts were likely scattered across the battlefield to direct forces.

But this particular outpost had evidently been discovered and destroyed by the extraterritorial demons. Even the protective high level Heavenly Grade spirit array had been shattered.

An Unwelcome Intrusion

Just as Xiao Ze prepared to delve deeper into the ruins, a fluctuation behind him caught his attention. He turned to see a distorted space ripple open, and from it emerged a figure cloaked in blood red robes.

The old man's presence radiated overwhelming power, his blood colored spiritual energy surging ominously.

"Well, this is fortunate!" the elder chuckled, his voice sharp and grating. "I hid here to escape the spirit storm and ended up stumbling upon an ancient relic. What luck!"

His gaze then shifted to Xiao Ze, his expression hardening.

"It seems I'm not alone. Which top faction do you belong to? Or are you just some low tier faction sneaking in?"

Xiao Ze remained calm, his piercing eyes recognizing the man instantly. This was one of the three elders of the Blood Spirit Sect, known as the Blood Tiger Elder.

Mandala had briefed Xiao Ze on the major powers of the Northern Territory and their key figures before the expedition.

The Blood Spirit Sect, a top tier force, had three elders with statuses akin to the three Sovereigns of the Great Luo Heavenly Domain. Blood Tiger was one of their most formidable.

The old man's initial glance showed disdain, but when Xiao Ze ignored him, his smile turned cold.

"You've got guts. I don't recall hearing about someone like you among the high ranks of other top powers. That means you must be from one of those sneaky low tier factions.

"Since you've come this far, don't bother leaving. Stay here, and in a thousand years, you might even become one of the wandering souls haunting this battlefield."

The Blood Tiger Elder's tone was menacing.

Conflict Unfolds

Xiao Ze's demeanor remained indifferent.

"You must be an elder of the Blood Spirit Sect. I'm not from a low tier faction. I recently joined the Great Luo Heavenly Domain as a guest elder."

His voice was steady, devoid of respect. Why bother respecting someone who had already made his murderous intent clear?

The Blood Tiger Elder's eyes narrowed, killing intent flashing.

"Oh? A guest elder of the Great Luo Heavenly Domain?" he sneered. "Doesn't matter. Today, your life ends here. You're unfortunate enough to have discovered the same relic as me!"

As the elder finished speaking, his fist clenched, and waves of blood red spiritual energy surged outward. The energy coalesced into a ferocious, snarling Blood Tiger, over a hundred meters long, charging at Xiao Ze with terrifying force.

Xiao Ze raised an eyebrow at the display.

"So, you're the strongest of the three elders, Blood Tiger," he remarked calmly.

The Blood Tiger's aura was overwhelming, twisting the air as it charged. Despite his dismissive tone earlier, the elder had launched an all out attack, aware that anyone capable of reaching this part of the battlefield was not to be underestimated.

Xiao Ze's palm glimmered as he conjured a golden flame orb, no larger than a dragon's eye. With a wave of his sleeve, the orb shot forward, cutting through the air and leaving cracks in space in its wake.

The Blood Tiger Elder's expression faltered as he watched.

Boom!

The golden flame orb collided with the Blood Tiger, and a storm of fiery and bloody energy exploded outward. The impact shook the ground, the shockwaves tearing through the ruins.

"How can an Eight Star Sovereign's attack be this powerful?" the Blood Tiger Elder muttered in disbelief. His gaze shifted to the golden flame in Xiao Ze's hand.

"Is that... a Heavenly Flame?"

Every Heavenly Flame in the Great Thousand World was famous, each one a force to be reckoned with. To think this young man possessed such a treasure!

Before the elder could dwell further on his shock, Xiao Ze conjured another golden flame orb and launched it straight at him.

"You want to kill me? Stay here yourself."

The elder's face darkened as a sense of impending doom crept over him.

Desperate Measures

Roaring in defiance, the elder summoned his Sovereign Avatar, a massive figure wreathed in blood energy. Around the avatar, thousands of spectral blood tigers prowled, roaring in unison.

The elder chanted an incantation, and the avatar mimicked his movements, channeling its energy into a torrential blood surge to counter Xiao Ze's second attack.

Unlike before, Xiao Ze didn't detonate the flame orb immediately. It pushed against the bloody tide, piercing through spectral tigers as it closed in on the elder.

Panicking, the Blood Tiger Elder funneled all his energy into his defense. Eventually, the golden orb's power was expended, and it dissipated under the relentless blood surge.

Just as he exhaled in relief, his gaze fell upon Xiao Ze. His pupils constricted in terror.

Floating before Xiao Ze were dozens of golden flame orbs, each radiating immense destructive power.

For the first time in decades, the Blood Tiger Elder felt genuine fear. A sense of inescapable death enveloped him.
