Chapter 20 - CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: UNFAIR TO DARK-CORES.

TAKI'S POINT OF VIEW.

"Hey, come to think of it…weren't we separated into groups of four?"

Yal calls to my attention as we drink thirstily from the small stream we have just found.

-The fruits we ate only aggravated our hunger-

Well, to be positive;

-At least we found water-

I shrug;

"I just hope they make it to the end of this" I say simply,

He nods, and continues drinking,

He looks so;

-Desperate and pitiful-

I regard him,

His present posture is absolutely comedic,

He perceives my staring and turns to me sharply

"What?" he asks obliviously,

I chuckle;

"Nothing you just look so funny…so unroyal"

I laugh at my own humour.

-Silence-

"By the way Taki…" he starts nervously,

"Why do you want to become a Reverred?"

-I flinch; this is a question I've been praying not to get asked- "It seemed like a cool thing " I blurt casually.

He looks at me somewhat puzzled.

"If you tell me the reason you want to become a Reverred, then I'll tell you the REAL reason I want to become a mage" he states icily,

-Real reason?-,

I stand up from the streamside;

"I thought you just didn't want to be useless"

-Silence-,

All so suddenly he gets up and smiles coyly;

"Don't mind me…come on let's look out for edibles" he rushes away,

-Why am I so curious?-

THE HOODED ONE'S POINT OF VIEW.

"So… in summary..."

Netyisha pauses;

"You're telling me that I have such a huge amount of essence just stored as a reservoir only to be expended if I turn evil?"

-She is astonished-

I nod with a smile;

"That's why Corrupted Dark-cores are so difficult to fight and why some of them are as strong as Chaos Beasts"

Netyisha relaxes into the seat, her eyes regarding the ceiling thoughtfully;

"They don't teach you this kind of stuff in the Reverred Academy...maybe they do in the Mage Guild"

She is getting excited.

I smile,

"Nobody will ever teach you this, but books will…knowledge is key"

She stares at me simply amazed,

-A new found respect present in her eyes-

"You are quite interesting Mr Hood, at first, I only knew of you as the faceless, nameless mage powerful enough to be Upper Head Mage" she mutters shyly, with her head down;

"But now as I've come to know you personally, I can see for myself that you're much more than that" she looks up at me with a small smile.

-I am flattered-

"Until this discussion…I've always been very concerned about…being accepted being a Dark-core…but now…" she pauses,

"It just seems so unfair that all dark-cores are deemed villainous and wrongfully unallowed to show their full magic potential", she pauses,

And I perceive;

-The irritation in her tone-

"I held back so much during my tests... as a Dark-core, I didn't want to be called evil", she continues with an increasingly irritated tone.

I stand up and step to the shelves where I retrieve a book "The former Great Mage Fenice is not even a Dark-core and yet he runs the most pronounced Terrorist Group in Pandora so…so why, why do they think it's only Dark-cores that can be evil?" she asks rhetorically,

-Her tone is even more bitter now-,

I chuckle,

"Do you know that 93% of common people immediately abandon relatives discovered to be dark-cores?"

My tone is distant as I flip through the pages of the book.

She flinches:

"But they didn't ask to be Dark-cores!" She yells.

"Well they think that they're following the instructions of the officials of the system...they believe deleting Dark-cores reduces the problems of the world..."

Netyisha slams her fist upon my reading table interrupting me.

-Yes this is it... that fascinating reaction-

So what are you telling me Mr Hood?", she questions placidly.

I walk to her, and hand her the book;

"Why don't you deduce that?"

CAMADA'S POINT OF VIEW.

At first the game was interesting.

But as it drags on;

-I start becoming more tired out than bored-

I can't possibly tell Rave this especially as I personally suggested a game-

It's basically a Catch activity.

-My good reflex has made me not to miss a single catch, and Rave's speed and agility has helped him not to miss any as well-

But presently, I am having serious trouble keeping up with Rave's pace.

I almost miss the catch;

"Hey, are you tired?".

Rave asks as I launch the Stone-thing we are throwing around at him wearily.

I nod shamefully.

"Then let's continue walking, it's not particularly wise to keep staying here anyway"

He drops the rock and starts walking,

I sigh heavily and I'm about to join up with him but then, I notice a group of;

-People?-

They are at a distance moving behind? us steadily;

"Hey Rave"

I call to Rave who seems oblivious of them approaching.

-He doesn't seem to have heard me-

As they inch closer, he stops in his tracks.

"Someone's following us"

"Well, that was what I was trying to let you know ever since" I interrupt.

-We don't keep on moving-

Soon, they reach us and the man who is apparently their leader marches up to us;

"Hey…pick, you serve us or... you die".

CAMADA'S POV END.
