CAMADA'S POINT OF VIEW.
The canvass of the wrecked village is a battlefield of bloody, morass, the creatures are so formidable that my colleagues only manage to push back against them with combined effort,
And me?
-I'm desperately trying to hide for my life from a creature that insistently tails me-
I try to hold my breath as I hide under the upturned bed inside the cottage I have made my refuge.
-However, the steady drumming of my heart makes me petrified that the creature will sense my presence-
I wonder why the beast is chasing me so closely.
I wilt in trembling, as I hear heavy thuds entering the cottage;
-These creatures have an excellent perception-
My mind works fast as the reality of it inevitably finding my hiding location dawns on me.
-The creature has a wheezing, mechanical breath and it's footsteps are hefty enough to shake what's left of the foundation of this cottage-
My eyes span across the ruined room, in search of what I can possibly use as a weapon.
-THUD, THUD, THUD; the creature approaches steadily-
My eyes catch a kitchen knife tossed at a distance from my spot.
I bite my lower lip, as I dart out from under the bed to grab the knife;
-Right into the of the beast-
It growls and raises one of it's club-like arms for a blow.
I barely jump out of reach and I land heavily on my injured arm.
-I don't have enough time to register the pain-
I jerk up while grasping up the knife and run.
-The atmosphere behind me is damp and heavy as it makes it's way towards me-
It isn't particularly chasing, rather it's pacing after me.
-By now, we have far digressed from the main battlefield-
STOMP, STOMP, STOMP.
-I am losing breath and energy, but the knowledge of imminent death lest I keep going serves as an excellent reminder-
I reach another wrecked building and I dive through the window leading to the infrastructure, the glass shatters against me and a few pieces graze me;
I roll in the shattered window bits for a few seconds before picking myself up.
The beast charges through, destroying the wall where the window was framed.
I run out of the space, my direction towards my colleagues.
-Should I brave up and try attacking?-
I stop in my race and I attempt to launch the knife at it.
-Obviously in futility-
It hisses as it bobs it's skeletal head that is full of the most terrifying fangs;
-It appears to be a cross between a dragon, skeleton and human-
My courage fails me as I think better than to try attacking it head-on.
-Everyone else is so distracted-
I wonder why I'm unable to activate my ability at all.
-STOMP, STOMP, STOMP-
Now it seems to have increased it's pace towards me, and I feel it close in on me.
-An instinctive shriek bursts out of my mouth-
Just as it launches its club-like arm towards me, a blur of motion erupts from behind it.
Rave, his expression determined lunges towards it fearlessly, his axe clutched tightly.
-His movement is swift and adept-
The creature sweeps it's arms in the air, attacking with it's claws potracted, Rave smoothly leaps out of the way leaving the creature tearing through the air where he was supposed to be.
Then with a yell, he brings down the axe again in an arc.
The creature almost concurrently yelps painfully;
-SLASH-
The painful sound of steel colliding with flesh precedes the splashing of blood all over me.
It has been cleanly felled at the centre.
It drops and Rave glances at me briefly;
"Why haven't you yet figured out that this life is not for you, instead of hiding like a coward, why don't you just go home?"
Then he charges away, right before I'm about to respond.
A wave of frustration washes over me;
-What's more annoying is that he's absolutely right-
I clench my fists tightly and a pulse of heat bursts from within me.
-All so suddenly, my shoulder ceases hurting-
I look at myself;
-I luminesce-
The glow around me is powerful; but apart from repelling the beasts around, what real harm can be done?
-SLAM-
Something jams against my forehead;
"Sorry..." Taki apologizes earnestly as she pushes me out of the way.
As her skin meets mine, it starts glowing as well.
She is alarmed, but alert enough to drive her sword at the creature as it closes in on her.
The beast falls back recoiling in pain as her sword; also lightened up by my glow; pierces into it's stomach.
Taki helps me up;
"Normally, there's no way my sword would have as much as grazed that beast with a single strike... it's almost as if your glow Ability reinforced my sword"
-I don't know about that-
"In that case, let's try it out!" She declares with excitement as she pulls me along with her.
CAMADA'S POINT OF VIEW END.
THE HOODED ONE'S POINT OF VIEW.
"We all know about the legend of the three Mages who engaged in a fearsome battle to seal the three Great-Chaos beasts...and succeeded with cost of not just their lives but their souls" I pause and regard Zael's face with amusement;
-All humans are solemn at the tale of the sacrifice of the three mages, also known as the three Great-Dieties to redeem humanity; but the look on his face in another level of religious-
"Yes, I know of that story" he mutters.
I flash him a thumbs-up;
"Well, their sacrifice ended up assuring only temporary tranquility"
He jolts upright;
"What do you mean?"
I laugh; "Exactly what I said... someday when they have accumulated enough Essence... the Great-Chaos beasts will awaken again to cause havoc, and maybe this time, successfully destroy the world"
Zael is beside himself with fright.
I smile to myself and say;
"But don't worry too much my good man... because a prophecy made by Visionaries of old, has promised that along with the awakening of these creatures, three heroes capable of defeating the beasts will arise and potentially restore peace to the world...these three individuals are referred to as; The Chosen"
I clap my hands gleefully;
"End of story"
An impudent groan cuts into my claps;
-I almost forgot SHE was here-
"Whatever, the world was bound to end anyway" Mau proclaims as she frolicks around in my room.
I grunt in frustration, meanwhile Zael remains frozen,
-He still battles with the reality that my story puts all the missing pieces together-
"Don't you wonder at the Reformation's intent? It's been to awaken the Great-Chaos beasts and that's why they have to be ahnilated quickly-" "-I was told that they cause havoc involving beasts...I had no idea...-" he interrupts me in a subtle tone.
I shrug;
"Well, the System didn't want to dish out the details to you low brass Mages, in order to keep everyone at bay and avoid a panic spree" I declare brazenly.
"Hey Hooded Boor...blah blah blah blah"
-I decisively shut out my ears to her yapping-
I turn back to Zael; "Is that all you'd like to ask me?"
He muses to himself;
"Actually, no...I want to ask you your relationship with ex Great-Mage Fenice as well..."
His question somewhat surprises me, I would never have expected him to ask me so directly,
"I've heard many things about how close two of you were, to be specific...I had first hand knowledge about your proximity...
but I want to hear about it from you yourself, because something tells me you had something to do with Mage Fenice's mental degradation" he adds with brazen.
I chuckle;
"Fine, I'll tell you that story too"
THE HOODED ONE'S POINT OF VIEW END.
THE HOODED ONE'S POINT OF VIEW/MEMOIR.
I watch with satisfaction as Fenice properly tires out Zael.
Soon, the stalking observer comes begging;
"Listen...I have no idea what I did to you, but please could you get your friend off my back?" his hands are clasped and he is earnest;
I am amused,
"What did you say your name was...?-" "-Zael" he responds quickly.
I nod;
"Why do you always stare at me, like you'd like to tell me something, but you don't know the words to say it?"
His cheeks flare red as he instantly recoils in shame.
"Do you have something to tell me?" I ask again.
He opens his mouth to speak;
"ZAEL! ,ZAEL! WHERE ARE YOU?" Fenice calls out eventhough he can clearly see Zael and I speaking not too far off.
I pat Zael's shoulder;
"You may have heard a lot of things about me... and you're probably just curious...so feel free to ask your senior questions, I won't bite"
Fenice comes to drag Zael away;
"Hood... don't go around teasing Zael, he's my favourite junior you know" he proclaims good-naturedly.
I chuckle, as Zael's face falls at Fenice's words.
