"Water!" Manman uttered the word with utmost seriousness.

The kitchen—aside from kitchen utensils, tableware, ingredients, seasonings, sugar, salt, oil, rice, and MSG—held something easily overlooked: water. And yet, every dish required water, that was undeniable.

If poison were to infiltrate through the tap water pipes into the kitchen, the chef could already be exposed when washing the pots before cooking. More so, chefs habitually washed their hands before each cooking sequence; every moment presented the opportunity for poison to contaminate the dishes.

This simple reasoning made everyone suddenly enlightened by Manman's suggestion, though only she had originally thought of it.

"I think Nannan made an excellent point," said Jun Ye, expressing his agreement first. His handsome brows furrowed deeply. "But, if the poison came through the tap water pipes, would it leave behind traces of the crime?"
