Elunara allowed herself a moment of satisfaction. Then the message spheres appeared.
Golden balls of light which contained messages held in queue by the Goddesses who hadn't wanted to interrupt her retreat. She swept them in with a gesture and absorbed the contents.
Her expression went still. The Evil Pantheon had been wiped out. All of it. Five Supreme Gods dead. Malakar, Skarion, Micteya, Mordra and Zakaria, all of them killed. By the Great Aetherium alone.
She had known the seven-day covenant between the Great Aetherium and the Evil Pantheon was going to produce a conflict, and she had instructed Selene, the Goddess of Moonlight and Hunting, to lead the Nature Pantheon to assist the Great Aetherium when that moment came.
But they had been intercepted by Great Aetherium's Supreme God Tier Angels before they could even reach the battlefield. Haru had fought the entire war through his own faction alone.
She had not expected this outcome. Even the Nature Pantheon at full strength would have found destroying the Evil Pantheon difficult. Five Supreme Gods assembled against you was the kind of force you avoided, not fought head-on.
Haru had fought it head-on and even when Malakar's Godhead self-destructed and generated a catastrophic Divine Power explosion, something she herself could not have reversed, because she didn't hold the Law of Space-Time, Haru had reversed it. Then killed both of them.
"He's also a Peak Supreme God now." She said to herself, "And with the Space-Time Law plus nearly two hundred law sources plus two top-level Natal Artifacts…"
She paused. There was a high probability that he was stronger than her. She didn't know his law source count was now 1,445. If she had, she would have understood that "high probability" was an understatement. At his current strength, Haru was already operating at something similar to a Pseudo God Monarch in practical terms, not in level, but in effective power. He could defeat her without much difficulty.
She noted the other developments. The Great Aetherium was now at war with the Light Empire in the central area. The Light Empire would likely become the first local empire destroyed by the castle faction.
Eight days of retreat, and the world had changed this much.
"His Majesty Kazehaya holds Peak Supreme God Tier strength, he has the ability and obligation to stand against the Demon Monarchs." She said, "It's time to speak with him directly."
She stood, lavender dress, strange flowers all around her, the aurora of her garden filling the air. She was about to step out of the Floravelle when something stopped her.
The aura of a soul. Distant, from the Endless Continent, faint but unmistakable. She recognized it because of the shared mind-link that had existed between them for hundreds of thousands of years.
"Amelie." She said the name quietly. Then her face broke into something that hadn't been there before. Genuine, uncomplicated joy.
Amelie, the Aurora Goddess, had been the closest of the four sisters to Elunara, closer than Svetlana and Pandora, because Amelie belonged to the Nature Pantheon. In the previous Divine War's final moments, Amelie had even sacrificed herself to hold off the Demon Lords while the Nature Pantheon retreated to safety.
She had been besieged. Her Divine Body had been destroyed. Only a strand of soul had returned to Elunara's side, and for tens of thousands of years, she had worked to protect that soul fragment from being invaded by evil power and turning into undead, waiting for a moment, a method, anything that could bring her back, which Haru had provided.
Elunara left Floravelle immediately. She couldn't wait to meet her sister now.
…
In the Great Aetherium's Imperial Capital Square, tens of thousands of light balls hung in the sky, varying in size from roughly two meters to about ten meters across, each one containing a resurrected soul.
They began to burst. The figures that emerged looked like high-ranking pure-blooded Demons with ferocious features. Bat-like wings, the physical forms of abyssal creatures, but the aura radiating from them was of the holy and light faction.
The Angel Reincarnation Pool's resurrection gave the soul and body a holy and light faction affinity while preserving the original appearance. Demon on the outside, holy on the inside. The dissonance was striking.
The weakest among them were Intermediate Gods. The strongest was approaching the late-stage of the Supreme God Tier. There was Dantean, at the intermediate-stage, transformed, already radiating the holy light aura of Haru's believers.
And then there was the figure who made everything else peripheral. Sky-blue dress. Skin fair as snow. A face that belonged in a different category from the word beautiful. She stood in the air above the assembled crowd with the particular stillness of someone who had waited a very long time and was now finally here.
At the late-stage of Supreme God Tier. Not Intermediate, but late-stage. Even Dantean's presence was washed out by the light coming off her. It was Amelie, the Aurora Goddess.
Haru stared at her.
"Elunara said Amelie was at the intermediate-stage in the Ancient Era." He said, "How is she at the late-stage after resurrection now?"
