"Move aside Penny." Barked Colwyn, failing to keep the urgency out of his voice, "You're doing more harm than good."
Pushing Penny off of the pale and sweaty mage, Colwyn touched the old mans forehead and allowed his own mana to pour into Gryphon. The knight hadn't done something like this since one of his first meetings with Azel, and yet he made no mistakes as his magic energy analysed Gryphons condition.
What he found was confusing, was that Gryphons mana core seemed to be malfunctioning. It was producing and pouring mana through the old mans circuits in a way Colwyn had seen individuals on their death beds prolong their remaining time for a brief period. But Gryphon had no apparent injuries, nor could he have contracted an illness of any kind during his time in the trial...
Turning his head to the sound of soft steps amid the thin puddle, Colwyn growled in a menacing voice, "What has happened to him?"
