Tony flew west across Europe at maximum speed. The Mark Infinity Supreme armor cut through the atmosphere like a knife. Behind him, Mumbai was safe. Storm had been freed and was receiving medical treatment.
But there was no time to rest.
"M.A.R.V.E.L., status on War's location," Tony said.
[Target confirmed over London, England. Magneto has tapped into Earth's magnetic core. Planetary-scale magnetic disturbances detected. Infrastructure collapse imminent across Western Europe.]
Tony increased speed. The armor's quantum systems pushed beyond normal limits. He crossed over the English Channel in seconds.
Then he saw London.
The city was being torn apart.
Magneto hovered two thousand feet above Big Ben. His corrupted form glowed with Celestial energy and raw magnetic power. The Celestial armor covered his body in black and silver metal with sharp angular edges.
But it was what surrounded him that was truly terrifying.
An entire orbital system of metal debris circled War like planets around a sun. Cars. Buses. Steel girders from collapsed buildings.
Chunks of bridges. Pieces of the London Eye. All of it spinning in perfect geometric patterns at impossible speeds.
Below, the city was in chaos. Buildings were collapsing as their steel frameworks were ripped out. The Thames had been diverted by magnetic force. Underground trains had been pulled to the surface and were now part of War's deadly orbit.
Tony's sensors showed the scope of destruction. Three million people in immediate danger. Thousands already dead.
War noticed Tony's approach. His head turned. Those eyes glowed with power that made the air itself shimmer.
"Another insect comes to die," War said with Magneto's voice but none of his personality.
He gestured casually. The orbital debris changed direction. Hundreds of tons of metal shot toward Tony at supersonic speed.
Tony didn't dodge.
His body phased to quantum state. The metal passed through him like he was made of smoke. Every projectile missed completely.
War's expression shifted to confusion.
"What?"
Tony didn't answer with words. He answered with action.
He accelerated to supersonic speed and flew straight at War. His right fist pulled back. Homo Supreme strength channeled through every muscle. Quantum energy enhanced the strike beyond normal physics.
The punch connected with War's face.
The shockwave from the impact was visible. A sphere of compressed air expanded outward. Windows shattered for miles in all directions. The orbital debris was blown away by the force.
War shot backward like a missile. He crashed through Big Ben's clock tower. Through the Parliament building. Through three more structures before finally slamming into the ground and creating a crater fifty feet deep.
Tony didn't let up. He was on War in an instant.
War tried to stand but Tony grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air with one hand. Magneto's feet dangled helplessly.
"Your magnetic powers don't work on me," Tony said coldly. "I exist between quantum states. You can't manipulate what you can't touch."
War snarled and released a magnetic pulse. The ground beneath them exploded as every piece of metal in a half-mile radius was pulled toward them.
Tony held firm. The metal formed a massive sphere around them both. War smiled thinking he had trapped his enemy.
Then Tony punched straight through the metal sphere. His fist shattered steel like glass. He grabbed War again and flew upward carrying him.
They shot into the sky at incredible speed. Higher and higher until London was just a sprawl of lights below them.
Tony stopped at ten thousand feet. He held War with both hands now.
"Let's see how well you fight without all that metal to hide behind."
War's eyes blazed with fury. "I don't need metal to destroy you!"
He released his full power. The Earth's magnetic field itself responded to his call. Magnetic lines of force became visible as they converged on their position.
The aurora borealis appeared at impossible latitudes. Compasses across Europe went haywire.
War pulled on planetary magnetism with Celestial-enhanced abilities. The force was immense. It should have torn Tony apart at the molecular level.
Instead, Tony just smiled behind his helmet.
"My turn."
