Being back in Vershia was like being back home and that was something Lucia did not have time to worry about. She was busy thinking about the last conversation he'd had with her before she left Rhodes. He had come to her apartment while she had been packing and told her that he wanted to talk to her.
She had been a little nervous. She had been wondering what she had done to warrant her father seeking her out. As long as she remembered, her father had never actively done so unless she was in trouble and as a child, she was rarely in trouble.
She remembered them sitting in her apartment's living room and her father looking around the room as if searching for where to start. She had thought he looked a little nervous.
"I understand you are going to Rhodes later today," he had said.
She had nodded uncertainly. In her head, thoughts were racing. She was trying to replay the last week to figure out if she had unwittingly done something to upset him or her mother.
