God damnit!
Lynn thought panicked. She was sitting in a very uncomfortable dress with a bunch of stuffy nobles and Suyin's parents and brother.
This was not the way I thought this would go!
A few hours ago
"My dear Suyin!"
Suyin's mother cried out.
"What are you doing still dressed in that nightgown! Maids!"
Suyin's mother snapped her fingers and a couple of maids rushed to Lynn's side.
"Get my daughter dressed and ready. We must leave before dusk to get to the gathering in time!"
What the fu-
Lynn thought before she was dragged away by the maids.
"Mother! You didn't have to be so mean! The party is nought for a few more hours!"
Kenzo complained.
"Now I can't play with Su!"
"You know you two can't waste time playing anymore. Kenzo, you have to get back to your lessons. We must prepare you to become the man of the Shizoni household! And Suyin must continue to learn to be a proper woman! How else will we get that girl married?"
Suyin's mother scolded Kenzo.
"Now shoo! Go to your father. Your lessons start soon."
Lynn only heard Kenzo groan before the door shut, cutting her off from hearing more.
"Follow us, ma'am."
One of the maid's said.
"Ah, right, of course."
Lynn said before following them.
I'd better use this time to get the layout of this place. The Shizoni's place, right? Is that what Suyin's mother called it?
The maids led Lynn through the estate. Wooden floors covered in soft red carpet and quartz pillars lined every hallway here.
This place is way too fancy...
Lynn thought, irked by the sight.
It reminds me too much of the bratty nobles when I was Lynn...
"Ma'am, please, sit. We will take care of you."
A maid said, once they reached a room. The room itself was quite large. Back in Alzara, it could have past for a salon.
Alzara... I will miss that place.
Lynn thought wistfully.
The place where I created my entire existence and character. Where I swore to protect.
Memories, good and bad, flooded Lynn's mind as she relaxed. The friends, the achievements, the betrayals, the prizes. No matter how much poison Alzara spit into Lynn, she would swallow it gratefully.
"All ready, ma'am."
A maid said, interupting Lynn's line of thought. They had styled and dressed Lynn in ridiculously fancy clothing. A lavender gown, adorn with silver jewelry glittered against Suyin's pale petite frame. It might have been one of the plainer dresses for nobles and royals, but to Lynn, this was the most absurd dress she'd ever worn. Her dark black hair pulled back into a bun. Her grey sharp eyes lined with simple eyeliner and her face lightly dusted with makeup.
I will never get used to how I look now.
Lynn internally mused as she took in account the outfit.
"You are dismissed."
She said to the maids. They bowed their heads before scurrying off to do who knows what. Lynn took a few moments to gather herself. She had to put all of her skills that she had acquired up to this point to good use.
It's the only way I'll be able to survive this place.
