A pair of silver eyes glistened in a shade akin to the moonlight, the owner, feral and ready to pounce on anyone or any animal that has blood running through it's veins.
Tonight, the king craved a human blood. But though his bloodthirst was almost at the edge, he still decided to hunt an animal instead.
Sebastian and Benjamin always went on hunts together, if they're not drinking from servants in the palace, they are hunting animals in the woods. Taking a hunt is always so much better for them due to their vampiric urges.
The satisfaction they got from seeing the life slowly fade away from the eyes of the animal or person they drank from was unmatched to them. It was just a predator trait.
They both used their powers running through the woods almost looking like a fragment of an imagination to anyone who caught sight of them due to their otherworldly speed.
"What's your desire tonight milord?" Benjamin was the one to ask, the cold night wind pushing his dark hair to his face.
Sebastian was quiet as he felt his fangs gently touch his tongue "The innocent creature if I'm honest". Benjamin's brows twisted in slight confusion, he had a clue to who the king was talking about but he knew the king wouldn't try to drink from his "innocent creature". He knew the king was in a slow, what some will call "sinister" and deliberate attempt to abduct the innocent creature without it seeming like it.
"A deer will do" Sebastian added. He didn't give into the resolve shattering bloodthirst. But just before they could both catch sight of an animal, the king had deep uncomfortable feeling in his chest. He placed his hand on his chest.
Noticing it, Benjamin asked "Milord, are you okay?". Silence bounced back to Benjamin.
A loud scream erupted in Sebastian's soul completely breaking his resolve, it was a familiar voice. His innocent creature!.
"Something's wrong, I'm going to be palace" Sebastian finally said to Benjamin before disappearing before his eyes leaving the latter in shock.
Not in shock that the king disappeared but surprised something could affect the king after years of the king being an "icy dead sea", leaving Benjamin with no other choice but to follow behind, using his vampiric speed.
"What did you put in those snacks?" Mister Nolan quivered in fear and concern as he questioned the kitchen servants.
"Mister Nolan you must try to calm down, Esther admitted that she didn't do anything to your daughter's cookies" The main cook tried to make the aggravated father calm down.
"Who made the cookies? Can you see the way she's screaming and groaning in pain yet you say nothing was put in there? Who made it?!" Mister Nolan reduced the tone of his voice.
Another loud scream echoed from the guest room, making mister Nolan close his eyes to momentarily push the fact that it was his daughter who was groaning in pains gaining the attention of most persons in the castle.
"Why is he raising his voice? Isn't he just a gardener? He's no better than us so he should keep his voice down" some servants said amongst themselves as they walked past the scene.
"Just tell me who made it please, what did the person put in them? My child is screaming at that top of her voice...in pains. Please who made it?" Nolan pleaded this time, not paying attention to the vile comments of some servants but more concerned with the well-being of Mirabelle.
Seconds later, a loud bang echoed and a cold gust of wind followed causing a chill in everyone's spine except Mister Nolan who was too emotional to recognize the presence of a man whose expression looked more sour than lime and lemon combined.
"Milord!" The servants bowed in reverence of the king who just walked in.
Their greeting made Nolan snap back to reality.
"Milord" he joined in greeting but quickly raised his head up and rushed to stand before Sebastian.
But before Nolan could utter a word, Sebastian beat him to it.
"Where's Mirabelle?".
Nolan's mouth was agape, ready to release an answer when in the next second another scream from Mirabelle reached the king's ear, making him turn his head towards the sound. His expression morphed from the sour one into a dark expression making the servants cower in fear of what was going to happen next.
Sebastian followed the sound and Nolan hurriedly trailed behind him. Reaching the guest room, Sebastian pushed open the door to find servants using fans on Mirabelle. Her upper body was bared and Sebastian closed his eyes briefly.
"Milord!" The servants greeted and quickly tried to cover Mirabelle's body. "What's going on with my guest?" His deep baritone made the servants fall to their knees, Helena and Esther were among them.
"Milord, she said she's feeling a strong pain in her chest and that her body feels like it's on fire, she even spat blood earlier and has been screaming for a while now" Esther was the one to speak.
"When did this start?" Sebastian's eyes swept over the four female human servants present in the room trying to curb this sudden outburst. One had her eyes darting from side to side in a suspicious manner, two looked clueless and Esther looked concerned.
"Milord it started at dusk" Esther spoke again.
Mirabelle wriggled in utter discomfort making Sebastian's eyes fall on her again. He didn't even know why he closed his eyes the first time, he had seen numerous women naked but for some reason, seeing her bared upper body felt inappropriate and he found himself closing his eyes the time he saw her. Now she had her linen laid loosely around her chest.
"You all, out!" Sebastian said, making all of them scramble to their feet before leaving the room.
Now it was just him and Mirabelle who was groaning in pains, he slowly walked up to her. She was laid on the bed and he hovered over her. He couldn't explain what was going on with him, first he craves her blood, heard her scream while he was in the woods which was in normal human reasoning, impossible because the distance was quite far and it felt like it was deep, somewhere in his soul he heard her scream and now, the urge to caress her and make the pain stop kicked in.
