Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 This is Deliberate Retaliation

The caller was Si Yuhuan's personal assistant, Yan Qing. He sounded very anxious.

"Oh! He's having an allergic reaction and needs a doctor. Why call me?!" Jian Xi's tone was indifferent and a bit impatient.

In the past, she would have rushed over, her face full of concern, wishing she could take his pain onto herself. But now...

"I'm quite busy. Hanging up now."

Then, Jian Xi hung up the phone.

Si Yuhuan heard it all too clearly. She didn't care about him at all, and she was even out clubbing!

She's crazy! This woman has gone mad!

Wan Yu, who had been having a great time partying, was now very drunk. She staggered into Jian Xi's arms. "Was that Si Yuhuan on the phone?"

"Yeah!"

Wow! That jerk finally had the nerve to call Xixi!

Wan Yu's gossipy side immediately flared up.

"You're not going back to him, are you?"

Just then, a Little Naigou approached. He was well-behaved and sensible as he settled beside Jian Xi. "Miss, may I have your number?"

His clear eyes brimmed with a captivating light, looking bright and charming.

Listen to him! So sweet-talking! Jian Xi felt her long-unsettled female hormones surge.

She was already captivating and alluring, with an enchanting figure and an air of indescribable wealth. She was undeniably a dazzling presence in the club, and quite a few people had already asked for her number.

Jian Xi didn't care if one more or one less person asked.

"Chu Xiao, that's a nice name. I'll remember you," Jian Xi said, a playful lilt in her voice.

"Impressive!" Wan Yu was practically worshipful.

Jian Xi yawned. "I'm tired. I'm going home to rest."

This kind of nightlife became exhausting if one indulged for too long.

After making plans to eat hot pot together the next day, Jian Xi drove off with a flourish.

She returned to her apartment in the city center. It was a wedding gift from one of her brothers.

Jian Xi had five brothers, every single one of them doted on her obsessively.

This apartment was a gift from her eldest brother. It was an expansive space of over two hundred square meters, bright and airy. The interior design was in her favorite cream style—soft and plush, making it very comfortable and much more welcoming to live in.

After freshening up, she snuggled into the soft, massive bed and comfortably drifted off to sleep.

It had been a long time since she had felt so relaxed.

「In the dead of night」

Rustling sounds jolted her awake.

Perhaps because she had died once before, Jian Xi was now hyper-alert and a light sleeper.

There's a stranger in my house!

Could it be a thief?

Jian Xi rolled out of bed, grabbed the nearest vase—a convenient weapon—and crept towards the source of the noise.

CREAK—

The door opened.

Fiercely gripping the vase, she brought it smashing down, cursing, "You damned thief! Filthy thief! Daring to cause trouble in my house! Are you looking to die?!"

Si Yuhuan hadn't expected Jian Xi to actually attack!

When he returned to their home after work, he found it empty and initially thought they'd been robbed. Only after making inquiries did he learn that Jian Xi had called a moving company and had all her belongings removed.

Women's little tricks... He'd seen plenty and hadn't really cared. But to think he'd actually have an allergic reaction!

He had come to settle scores with this heartless woman, not even bothering to get an IV drip first, and she had almost brained him!

After the first blow landed, he endured the pain, grabbed her hand, and pulled her directly into his embrace.

The familiar scent of tobacco filled her nostrils. It was Si Yuhuan's scent! She would never forget it, even in death!

"Let me go!"

She struggled desperately.

But the man's strength was astonishing. Like a volcano on the verge of erupting, he furiously swept Jian Xi up in a princess carry and threw her back onto the bed.

Before she could react, Si Yuhuan bundled her up in the blanket.

The difference in strength between them was immense.

Jian Xi had no chance to resist and was trussed up like a rice dumpling.

She yelled and screamed, "Help! Murder!"

This wasn't a detached villa; it was just an apartment. If she kept shouting like this, she would undoubtedly attract attention.

Si Yuhuan, disregarding everything else, lunged forward, covered her mouth, and warned, "Shut up!"

Up close, Jian Xi's large, dark eyes, like dewy grapes, met his. That, combined with the effects of the potent anti-allergy medication he'd taken, inexplicably stirred something in Si Yuhuan's lower abdomen. With their bodies pressed so close, an unknown impulse made him capture her lips...
