The man slowly opened his eyes from unconsciousness, raised a hand to touch his head, and painfully climbed up from the ground.
"Are you okay?" Qin Jian asked him.
The man couldn't even respond, struggling to get up and staggered as if to run.
"Stop!" At that moment, a group of people ran over from afar, wielding clubs and machetes, charging forward.
The man glanced back, his face turning pale instantly.
These people came after him; now he'd hit his head, seeing only blood before his eyes, dizzy and unable to run.
But if he didn't run, he might well die under those knives and sticks.
"Chasing after you?" Qin Jian squinted his eyes and asked as he observed the mob rushing towards them.
The man looked at him, his gaze falling onto Qin Jian's military uniform, a glimmer of hope arising in his previously lifeless eyes, grasping Qin Jian's arm tightly and pleading with hope: "Save me! Save me!"
"Why are they trying to kill you?" Qin Jian asked.
"Don't ask, save me!"
