The seven items that are needed are Void Essence Crystal, Chaos Lotus, Etherium Dust, Dragon Heart, Astral Tears, Temporal Sand, and Primal Chaos Orb.
Void Essence Crystal can only be obtained in Void Realms that had come to its end as the Void Essence Crystals are the core that uphold these realms, which is very rare to obtain since Void Realms had long lifespan before it collapse on its own. It could be destroyed but there are no records that humans had ever destroyed one and there's even a record that each of the highest ranking [Ascendants] of different roles have teamed up to a thousand but could not destroy a Void Realm.
As for Chaos Lotus, it is a mystical flower that only blooms once in a hundred thousand years and could last for a century before it withers. As for where it could be found, it is usually where the most concentrated chaos energy are.
Etherium Dust is much easier to find than Void Essence Crystals since it could be found in ancient ruins especially if the ancient ruins is of much older.
Dragon Heart, as it's name implied is the heart of a dragon but not just an ordinary dragon. The heart must belong to a Primal Chaos Dragon that had existed since the beginning. It's heart, the size of a human head, is usually called the Undying Heart as it cannot be destroyed by any powers except chaos energy but even if chaos energy destroyed it, another Chaos Dragon would be born. Though if it's absorb, that's a different story.
Astral Tears can be obtained from celestial beings that had at least lived for a hundred thousand years and the longer the celestial had lived, the more powerful the Astral Tears are. It can only be obtained through negotiations though as only celestial beings can create Astral Tears through their accumulation of time, experience, and wisdom of their life. Astral Tears are the most precious since the experience and wisdom of that celestial being are all in there. If one obtained it, they will also obtain all the experience and knowledge that the celestial being had since birth even the deepest secret they hide will be revealed through the Astral Tears.
Temporal Sand can be obtained in the Time Shore where the past, present, and future intersect in the Sea of Time.
Lastly, the Primal Chaos Orb is an orb created from chaos energy that had accumulated through the point that it materialized and become an orb.
Once the person had obtained all of the items, they will just need to set up a Chaos Absorbing Array, Chaos Refining Array, and a Heavenly Calming Array before absorbing these.
The three arrays are also explained deeply in the book and that whenever the cultivator wants to cultivate, they will need the Heavenly Calming Array so that they won't succumbed to the chaos.
As for why these things are needed is because no one can survive cultivating the chaos energy. Chaos energy is too violent for one to try to cultivate, these items are used to transform one's body to be sturdy enough to get used to chaos energy and cultivate. As for why Chen HaoYu was safe before when he tried to cultivate might've been because of the time when he was in that cave.
This book was written by an expert who had achieved cultivating chaos energy and all the creatures who had obtained this book had either successfully cultivate chaos energy or had been absorbed by it. Actually, the book is not written by one person but through the experience of all that tried to cultivate chaos energy and sacrificed themselves.
'Fuu... F*CK! YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT LET ME CULTIVATE! Why would I need so much items just to start cultivating? This is so absurd!'
Exhaling exaggeratly, Chen HaoYu closed his eyes to relax. He knew that it will take a long time before he could cultivate.
Last night, before the siblings went to bed Chen ZhiYa showed him the withered lotus she got and had placed it beside the tree along with the plants in the backyard making it stood up from the rest. Chen HaoYu knew that it was a withered Chaos Lotus, one of the items needed in the first step of the Sevenfold Chaos Technique.
Chen HaoYu also knew that someone must've been helping him since he would always thought of and know the name or what to do just like when he has to go for the Chaos Spring Water, when he thought that he should drop the jelly water droplet into the lake, and now knowing that the withered plant was Chaos Lotus.
Sighing, Chen HaoYu lied down and look at the pitch black sky.
"Senior, why do I need all these items just to cultivate?"

"Can't I be just like those protagonist that have divine talent in cultivating or someone who's lucky to obtain an item that let's them become a genius? I'm an ordinary person in my past life but I'm still an ordinary person when I come here... Ugh... I'm not complaining or..."
"I won't even be able to do anything if I don't have magic energy... How can I become an Artificer?"

Chen HaoYu had been blabbering for a long time but still no response or thought came to him.
In this world where the sky is pitch black but the land is seemingly lit up by moonlight making it look like an eternal night. The glittering lake and the forest along with the mountains at the background made a sight to behold except for the young man lying in between the lake and the world tree.
Chen ZhiYa was standing behind a large surface root of the world tree listening to Chen HaoYu blabbering. She couldn't help pursing her lips and clenching her hands as she looked at Chen HaoYu with teary eyes.
Seeing her brother depressed like that also made her sad. She thought that Chen HaoYu had already moved on but it seems that the blow her brother received from having no magic energy was too much. Even though many months has passed and that her brother had a fortuitous encounter to be able to fix his magic core and have an unknown magic energy but seeing today that Chen HaoYu still couldn't cultivate because he needed items to be able to have the first step in cultivating made her have a dangerous thought and that is to obtain these items so that her brother can cultivate.
'This is the only way so that I can redeem myself!'
Although Chen HaoYu had said that it was not her fault and that it was just an accident, she couldn't help but feel that it was her fault that her brother became like this.
There are still 2 more years before Chen ZhiYa can graduate and go out exploring but it didn't mean that she couldn't issue mission at the mercenary hall or try to ask someone stronger to help her obtain these items.
