Xia Wanwan saw Grandpa Han's tender side for the first time; he was no longer the lofty elder but rather an old man overjoyed and comforted by the news of having a great-grandson.
His aged face was filled with gratification, his eyes even brimming with tears.
After learning the news, not many knew, but once Xia Wanwan and Xi Muchen finished breakfast, they called Yang Susu, who, on the other end of the line, seemed unable to speak through her tears.
After Grandpa Han found out, Bai Lan and Shangguan Junyuan quickly learned the news too. No sooner had she hung up with Yang Susu than Bai Lan's call came through.
Bai Lan, clearly excited on the other end of the line, kept saying she wanted to visit Xia Wanwan, wishing she could fly over to their home right away.
"Grandma, I have to go to work in a bit," Xia Wanwan said. "Even if you came, I wouldn't be here."
