Presidential Palace.
Barton's assistant slowly walked into the reception room and placed a plate of snacks in front of General Barton, then gave him a side glance.
"Ah—" General Barton yawned, "Indeed, age does not spare anyone. I'm getting old, can't match the President's energy... how about we..."
The President observed his expression and smiled, "General Barton, you're certainly not old at all."
"I'm done for the night. How about... we call it a night?" General Barton raised his glass, "One last drink, cheers, then I'll take a rest. I've already asked my assistant to call back and investigate Sam's situation. There should be news by tomorrow morning."
"Alright then." The President also raised his glass and clinked it lightly with his, "I hope this matter can be explained soon. Cheers."
Having their last drink, the President personally got up and escorted General Barton to the door of the guestroom arranged for him at the Presidential Palace.
