THE ROYAL CASTLE.
Griselda's cold and detached gaze follows Aidan and Marcus as they leave the room. The moment the door closes behind them, her smile vanishes, replaced by an unknown expression that looks like precise calculation.
She turns and walks to the large window, her favourite place to be in the room when Aidan isn't around. She looks over at the royal gardens, a place she once loved to walk when given the chance. Now, she simply sees a kingdom to be claimed, a throne to be ascended, the fleeting feeling of power and influence overwhelms her as she closes her eyes, sighing in content.
She doesn't know the reason for her initial actions, but the boy's fear was a fleeting amusement to her, nothing more. Her mind, however, is already moving on.
