Chapter 23 - I won’t eat you

"Okay, I'm going back to freshen up," Chaithanya said as he walked toward the mansion, while Xiuying headed to the guest room.

After freshening up and getting dressed, Chaithanya stepped out of his room and walked to the main hall.

Surprisingly, seven ladies were sitting on the sofa side by side. As he approached, Xiuying stood up, and seeing her stand, all the ladies rose as well, excitement evident in their eyes. Xiuying introduced them one by one. "This is Lin Xuetong, Zhao Ruoxi, Cheng Yutong, Su Jinyu, Han Yuelin, Tang Shiman, and Yu Qianqi."

Lin Xuetong, Zhao Ruoxi, and Cheng Yutong had similar body builds, with fair skin and long, silky black hair.

Su Jinyu, Han Yuelin, and Tang Shiman had different body types but shared the same fair, rosy complexion, with both short and long smooth hair.

Yu Qianqi had a completely different style. She had toned brown skin, an unremarkable appearance, poor dressing sense, and brandless clothes. She looked like the kind of woman who worked in the village fields—unattractive to many boys, but to an Indian? A fatal attraction.

He glanced a few extra times at Yu Qianqi's uniquely beautiful face, then turned to the group and said with a gentle smile, "Hello, ladies. Nice to have you here. After thinking it over, I've decided to take all seven of you gym coaches as my trainers. I'll train with each of you every day, but I'll give bonuses to the hardworking ones." He gave them a flirtatious wink, then looked at his secretary and added, "Arrange guest rooms for them. If they don't want to stay in the mansion, then arrange daily living expenses."

Xiuying looked at him peculiarly but eventually nodded. "Okay."

"Good," Chaithanya replied, and with a smile, walked toward the gym hall.

All the ladies exclaimed happily and immediately surrounded Xiuying to talk about fees and other details.

But Yu Qianqi silently followed Chaithanya to the gym hall. He walked inside and began inspecting the equipment with interest. He was interrupted by a sharp yet quiet voice. "Hmm… sir, you're an actor, right?"

Chaithanya turned back to look at the uniquely beautiful Yu Qianqi and nodded. "Yes, I am."

"I understand why you chose the other female coaches, but can you tell me why you chose me along with them?" she asked, gently tucking her bangs behind her ear.

"Oh? Then tell me why you think I chose the other trainers," Chaithanya asked with an intrigued gaze.

"Because they have curvy figures and fair skin. They're beautiful and sexy," Yu Qianqi said with an innocent yet serious expression.

"Haha, you're right," Chaithanya said, amused.

"Now it's my turn to answer you. The reason I chose you is because you have the charm of natural beauty. Even though your skin is toned and brown, it doesn't diminish your beauty—it elevates it. Your charm is irresistible to someone like me," he said, his gaze pure and appreciative.

A faint blush spread across her cheeks. She had never received praise like this in her life. Since arriving in the city, no man had shown interest in her. She became a gym trainer, but very few clients booked sessions with her—mostly women. She had worked in farm fields before, but with her mother's declining health and expensive medication, the income from farming was not enough. She came to the city seeking better-paying work, but with no education, finding a job was difficult. She eventually found a gym recruitment notice. Being a woman helped her secure a role as an extra trainer, but she received no salary—only commissions, which still weren't enough to afford her mother's medicine, though slightly better than farm work.

She overheard the female trainers discussing the ad during a break. They rarely interacted with her, so she asked a customer for the details instead. She had little hope of being selected but still wanted to try. Her mother's health worsened daily; she needed treatment urgently.

She had no expectations when she came for the selection, yet now she stood before an actor who chose her as his trainer and even praised her beauty. Her heart raced—she had never felt anything like this. She shook her head lightly and muttered, "Thanks," before turning toward the gym hall entrance.

But Chaithanya was quick. He moved swiftly, gently grabbed her hand, pulled her into his arms, brushed her bangs aside, and asked, "Why so much hurry? I won't eat you. Your eyes look anxious and sad. You're going through something difficult. If you have a problem, tell me—I'll help you."

As a spiritual energy user, he was highly sensitive to intense emotional fluctuations. He could feel her helplessness and sadness clearly.

After hesitating for a moment, she took a deep breath. "My mother's health is really bad. She needs immediate treatment and good medicine, but I can't afford any of it."

"That's it? You should've told me earlier. I may lack romance and love in my two lives, but I'm definitely not lacking money. Come on, let's take your mother to the best hospital in Shanghai," Chaithanya said firmly.

She didn't understand the strange part he said earlier, but the rest was clear. She wondered if she had heard correctly. "You're not lying, right?"

"Why would I lie? Since it's about your mother's health, let's not waste time. But…" He took a deep breath and continued, "Just introduce me as your colleague if your mother asks about me."

"Okay…" Yu Qianqi replied, her lips trembling.

He picked up his phone and dialed his secretary. The call connected. "Xiuying, I'm going out. I'll be unavailable for at least three hours, so don't try to contact me during that time." He didn't wait for her response and hung up before she could say anything.

In the guest room corridor…

Xiuying, who was showing the recruited trainers their rooms, was stunned by Chaithanya's words. Before she could even process them, the call had already disconnected. "This bastard… he doesn't take me seriously at all," she muttered, irritated.

"Miss Xiuying, these guest rooms are really nice. I'd like to stay here," Lin Xuetong said with an excited expression.

"Yeah, Miss Xiuying, we've all decided—we want to stay in these guest rooms," Su Jinyu added with a fawning smile.
