"Hey! Your friend here is attacking us!"
We blocked, Elyzer threw continuous charged punch at us.

"Oi, Elyzer, what are you doing!" I shouted
He continued attacking us, he is not listening!
His eyes were blank, he is out of his sense not responding.
"Wait, don't tell me-"

My ghost threw a devastating blow on Elyzer's chest, making him flew and shattering the window going inside the barber shop.
"Hey! What have you've done!"
"I am afraid to say that our friend here has been poisoned"
I was suddenly strucked by his words. We switched consciousness, letting me ragain control over my body again.
"Wh-what do you mean poisoned?" I stuttered
"Adrian might have put something in Elyzer when he stabbed him on the neck. Something that is so familiar to me"
Elyzer walked out of the shop. Rubbles and glass shards falling down on him.
"What kind of poison are you talking about?"
Elyzer hopped out through the window and looked at me.
"This poison is not what you think. This poison affects the thinking of Elyzer. He has now the level of thinking of the enemies or what we called the evil ghosts"
In a raptorous swift, Elyzer ran up to me and threw a punch. I blocked it on time.
"What do you mean?"
"Elyzer had lose his feelings, pitifulness, jealousy, guilt, he sees our enemies as allies and saw us as threats. It's like it just turned him opposite"

Elyzer landed a fist on my face. I grunted, my ears rang because of his explosive punch.
"Then how can we remove this poison?"
"I may have encountered this before but I am afraid to say I don't know. That's why I let you take over your body again to see if you can either find a way, retreat, beat him up, or... Kill him"

And here I am, fighting with him, not sure what have happened on his mind.
"N-no, there should be a way, right? You exist the day this world existed, there should be something you learned from your enemies"
My ability sighed "Mateo, we evolve and learn every after war. But, there are too many of them and too many abilities to face. There are sometimes chances near one percent meeting that foe and I have never face this kind of foe. The last time I faced this one was our last war"
I gritted my teeth "What if I kill the user of the ability that cause this?"
"Probably yes. But look around you, they are long gone now. Baguio is a big city, you can't find them easily. You might run to the enemies and ambush you. It might be a trap if you follow them"

Elyzer landed a punch on my chest. I flew and crashed on a car, the car started alarming.
"Then what's the best option!" I panickingly shouted
"I repeat Mateo, I don't know. The choice is up to you"
With strength, Elyzer carried a car and slammed it downwards on my direction . The tail of the car hit the hood of the car, stopping it nearly touching me from inches.

I hit his charged leg with my right charged leg. He started falling to the ground.

Before he fall, I kicked him on the stomach with my left charged leg. He flew and crashed on a sign.
Memories flashed on my mind, it was him smiling, that time when we were swimming with the others. Other memory flashed, him grinning on the girl I onced like when we were elementary.
I slapped my face and rubbed my nose. Stop Mateo, these memories ain't saving us.
Elyzer stood up and pat the dust off him, I readied myself as he approached slowly, sweat pouring down my head.

In a whiplash, the charges on his legs exloded, boosting him dowards me. He raised his arm.

I blocked his blow on time, making me glide backwards.
We have been fighting for a long time, I am tired. But I had to do something first with Elyzer, but how. What or who caused him to turn against us?
Elyzer followed, he grabbed me in the shirt and slammed me on the ground.
"Urcke!"
He raised his charged fist, I acted quickly and kicked him on the chest with my charged leg. He flew and crashed on a car he just threw seconds ago.
I stood up and panted.

I noticed something, my eyes widened. Something is sticking out of his stomach. It was a destroyed sharp center post of the car behind him.
Oh shit oh shit oh shit what have I've done!
He started bleeding rapidly, blood stained his shirt.
"I-I am sorry. I didn't know!"
He just grinned and punched the center pillar of the car. The pillar just stayed on his stomach.
"Elyzer, remove that thing!"
"He is also in a self-destructive state. Not only does he betray his allies, he will also try to kill himself" My ability said
He suddenly leaped towards me with his charge. I was startled, he was too fast I can't react or move to quickly.
"Oh shit!"

A loud explosion, but, I didn't felt any pain. I opened my eyes, I can see Elyzer's aura articles passing through me.
I looked up, Elyzer's raptor was there, blocked and absorbed the punch for me. He landed on me and we both flew before hitting the grow.
The raptor on top of me squirmed and screeched in pain. He stood up, he struggled to walk. The raptor started screeching at Elyzer.
"His ability is against him. The only thing that was affected was the human or the owner's brain"
I looked at the raptor in front of me.
"What is it trying to do?" I asked
"He is trying to talk Elyzer out of sense, but of course he won't listen"
Panic took over me "Just tell me what can I do to bring him back. You won't expect me to kill him"
"I really am sorry Mateo, but I can't tell how this phenomenon works. Our memory resets every time this event finish. We may recall our enemies tho through their energy but feeling the energy from this one is unfamiliar. But the energy is unfamiliar and new to me, I have never encountered it since it's beginning"
Elyzer kicked the raptor away and approached me.
"He is coming right at us Mateo, think fast" my ability warned
The auras around my limbs are blazing big, they have been charged for too long. I looked up at Elyzer, looking at me with empty fierce eyes, evil smile showing his red stained teeths.
I am sorry Elyzer.
I don't have much of a choice.
I dashed forwards and raised my right leg for a stomping kick.
"I am truly sorry"
I delivered the devastating kick on his chest. I felt his ribs cracking. My eyes widened in shock. I went too far, I didn't control my strength.
I noticed his suddenly came back to life, his expression confused and full of hurt.
He flew, he bumped onto a sign. He carried it with him before landing to the ground, rolling like a ragdoll.
"Holy shit!"
I ran up to Elyzer who was moaning and groaning in pain. I crouched down to him, worried and terrified for what I have done.
"I-I am sorry, you just started attacking. I don't know what to do"
"Shit men, what the hell happened"
His voice weak, trying to catch air. He suddenly coughed out blood. He noticed the car part stabbed on his abdomen.
"Why the hell is this thing on me. Why can I feel my inside's bleeding"
His scrappy breathless voice haunted me, like bringing trauma up to me.
I looked around the empty streets, his weak slow raptor struggled to walk towards us.
"Hey, somebody help! Diana, Yuri!?" I called out, my voice echoed throughout the quiet empty city
Elyzer grabbed my shoulder "Stop, you might call the enemies"
I ignored him "Anybody, I need help!"
Elyzer forcefully grabbed my collar "Hey hey hey, listen to me Mateo. It's going to be alright"
"But you are going to die, are you expecting me to let you die"
"The risk Mateo. If our friend comes and the enemies come, there will be more people to die instead of just one"
He coughed again, blood came out of his mouth "I am not going to die, I can handle more"
I tried to carry him up, he suddenly shouted in pain. I put him back down
"I'm sorry"
"It hurts, just wait for help"
We both went to a pause, not knowing what to do and say. Only his heavy breathing fill the silence.
He laughed "Hey, Mateo. I have a question"
"What?"
"Have I... Been a good friend to you?"
My eyes widened to his question. He patted my shoulder, his voice getting weaker.
"Hey, wake me up when help arrive"
His arm fell to the concrete ground. His and body went lifeless, he stopped breathing.
His raptor went beside the body and curled himself like a car and placed his head on Elyzer's stomach. He made a sad low tone sound.
His body to turn into particles, flying up to the air. The raptor was gone. The particles went up, until they vanished like dust by the wind.
Cold water droplets started to fall from the sky. I raised Elyzer's upper body. Rain started to pour in all over the city. Tears started coming out of my eyes. I hugged Elyzer tightly.
Such a bad time to rain.
